Our Personal Qualities are skills for life I am so proud of my achievement. I came 5th! Next time, I would do exactly the same. (Julius)
Doing a triathlon requires Adaptability due to the differing disciplines that you need to train for. I also found the swimming leg the most difficult, so I found that my powers of Resilience were important in getting me through. (Mr Nathan)
The marshals showed great Cooperation skills ensuring all swimmers made it safely back to the beach. (Miss Steph)

Last Sunday, various members of Panaga School Community took part in the Panaga Triathlon, either as a participant or as a marshal. Two of our Melilas students also took part, with Akash (M1) being the youngest participant. Both Julius (M2) and Akash have participated in Triathlons before, however this time, the Open Water Swim was new to them.
I was so glad that Miss Rachel was there to calm my nerves. Her Communication skills are grand! (Miss Chris)
Reflecting on my time, I am very curious how I can improve my overall speed if I keep training in swimming and biking. I will definitely train those disciplines more for the next Panaga Triathlon. (Miss Chris)
During the run, I wanted to give up, but I was Resilient. I could see Miss Chris ahead of me, and she gave me the inspiration to keep going! (Miss Rachel)
Reflection
Looking back at my time, I am extremely proud of my achievement, as it was my fastest triathlon so far. (Akash)

Dutch Certificate Swimming If the Netherlands is your base country and you are planning to relocate in the next couple of years, you might want to consider the Dutch Swimming Certificate Programme for your children.
In the Netherlands, it is mandatory for children to have this certificate if they want to swim in any public swimming pool or lake. The Dutch Society Brunei, NVB, organises a swimming programme at Panaga Club that covers all three swimming levels, A, B and C, and the examination. Lessons take place on Sunday mornings from 9 - 10am and are free for members of NVB, starting again on 5th September. Entry requirements: 1. Minimum age: 4.5 years and older (P1 children) 2. Able to swim two laps on the back and two laps on the front. Dutch Certificate Swimming is in addition to Stingray swimming. For more information: rolandfennis@icloud.com
