Public Holidays Due Next Week Next week will mark the end of the Holy Month of Ramadhan, with a moon sighting due to take place on the evening of Wednesday 12th May. Depending on the outcome from this moonsighting, three days of public holidays in recognition of Hari Raya will begin on either Thursday 13th May or Friday 14th May. Miss Cyla will inform our school community of the start date for Hari Raya public holidays. This message will be distributed through WhatsApp communication via Parent Representatives, once the official announcement is made on Wednesday evening. 2021/2022 Academic Year Updates In preparation for the new academic year, we are paying close attention to forecasted student numbers for August 2021. If your family is due to leave in the near future, could you please make this known to a member of the school leadership and/or our school administration officers. Early informal indications of this information are also appreciated, as this assist us with the enormity of planning for staff and student arrangements. The next edition of Panaga School Weekly will be on Friday 21st May, due to the upcoming public holidays. We would like to take this opportunity to wish our Muslim community the very best as the Holy Month of Ramadhan soon draws to an end. Wishing you all a safe and happy Hari Raya when it arrives.

Pupils across Teraja and Melilas took part in the international mental arithmetic competition run by Mathletics. All through 5th May, pupils took part in 20 increasingly challenging, 60 second mental arithmetic competitions. They were pitted against mathletes from all around the world. To add an extra dimension to the competition, we also counted up the number of correct answers for each house.

Renee and mum Liz feeding the kittens
Our new bed
Unaware to Panaga School, four new furry friends joined the school around 3-4 weeks ago. We believe their mum gave birth to them in the Melilas pool table. This is the second time mum has given birth there. Although it is not ideal to take kittens away from mum at this young age, we decided to rescue them for their safety. Unfortunately, we were unable to catch their mum as she is quite feral. However, we will try our upmost to get her spayed. The kittens are very fortunate as Renee from M1S, together with her mum, Liz, have taken it upon themselves to foster the kittens until they are adopted. They took them to the vets for a check-over and they have been dewormed. It is a big responsibility looking after such young kittens as you have to feed them every four hours, and also ensure they go to the toilet regularly. Renee gets up every morning at 5am to feed the kittens. There are three grey ones (2 girls and one boy) and one ginger one (boy). They have beautiful long tails too. We are looking for forever homes. We are very sweet and will not be any bother. In return, we will give you lots of licks, love and great company. We are very easy to look after when we are a bit older.
If interested in adoption, please email Miss Steph: stephaniestraatman@panagaschool.net
