Vile Parle residents rile against skywalk along station road Published: Tuesday, Apr 21, 2009, 21:02 IST By Brinda Majithia | Place: Mumbai | Agency: DNA The D Joshi Road outside the station, supposed to be a non-hawking zone, has numerous illegal vendors on both sides of the road that it almost seems like a vegetable market. The road is the one of the main link between the station and the arterial SV Road. Along with encroachments cropping up in the area, telephone lines as well as sewage lines have been damaged causing trouble to local residents. It is difficult to bring private vehicles in the vicinity. Some taxis and auto drivers also refuse to ply passengers right upto the station precincts. Residents are expressing doubts about the utility of the skywalk, which was to extend upto Cooper Hospital. In its current form, the skywalk will extend till SV Road, adding to fears that it will crowd the already congested motorway.

An urban housing caters to various issues like that of social security and ownership. Due to increase in real estate prices many bungalows were led to bungalows being destroyed to give way to towers consequently. the owners lost their relationship with the land.
To protect their privacy isolated them from the society. Therefore a low rise is proposed with terrain formations at multiple levels and skylight courtyards. This will create a safe neighborhood and give every individual a feeling of being on the ground floor strengthening their bond with the earth. The varying levels created externally and internally due to the terrain help maintain their privacy, giving an individual a bungalow like feeling.

Generation of organic form bench using grasshopper and rhino script. Spatially designed to morph as per the user and direction.
structurall stability and ergonomical utility tried and tested through many mockups of models in various materials like acrylic and mdf..
Can be used as a public furniture at art galleryies and museums. as the form gives way to free flowing spaces and condone an open plan. It's a-directional and torsion form leads to flexibility on site and placement.

The design consists of a series of reflective panels which become the exterior sheathing of the space. These panels are positioned in such a way that they create new & provocative overlaps/relationships between the existing elements & the insert. Vistas which were finite now become infinite variations depending on ones viewpoint.
2) I have located the insert adjacent to existing structure so to make a formal connection from interior to exterior. It was important to address existing scales of walls & architectural elements. There is also a sloping ground plane attached to one side of the extension from which the horses can interact with the guests within the space. One can also move above the traditional different vantage point.
