State-of-the-Art Cancer Center Coming to Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Hazleton in 2023 A new state-of-the-art cancer center is coming to Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)– Hazleton in 2023, bringing more leadingedge cancer care services to the local community. Demolition has begun on the building that formerly housed the Hazleton General Hospital School of Nursing, and an official groundbreaking will take place later this year or early next year. When completed, the new cancer center will have three floors and include physician practices, an infusion center and radiation oncology services. Currently, infusion services are provided at an off-site medical office, and patients needing radiation treatment must travel to other locations. “The need is very clear, and this

treatments and clinical trials to individuals within their own community. The Cancer Institute is also one of only three cancer centers in the country participating in the Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) Cancer Alliance, which provides patients with additional lifesaving care options close to home.
