Burroway Wind Farm: ACE Power starts informal drop-in sessions By SOPHIA MCCAUGHAN IF you have any questions about the proposed large-scale Burroway Wind Farm (BWF) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS, or “the big battery” as some locals have nicknamed it), ACE Power will be holding informal community drop-in sessions in Narromine today and tomorrow. BWF and BESS are part of a proposed development on the Eumungerie Road, about 16km north-east of Narromine. Many local people have been talking about it, and now they have their chance to have their questions answered at the drop-in sessions outside Zest Cafe in Dandaloo Street. ACE Power staff will be there from lunchtime today and from breakfast time tomorrow. The proposed project area for BWF/BESS is located within the Narromine Shire Council Local Government Area, and on the outer edges of the Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO REZ). Charity Show ‘n Shine Swap Meet to rev up for a good cause By SOPHIA MCCAUGHAN IF there is one thing Narromine Car Club committee member Lindsay Edmunds loves more than his cars, it is giving back to the shire! Each year, the club aims to raise $10,000 to donate to local community organisations, sporting clubs, and charities, with all donations staying in the Narromine Shire. On Sunday, March 16, the club’s Charity Show ‘n Shine and Swap Meet will make a welcome return, and hopefully bring classic car enthusiasts from all around to Narromine. Lindsay told the Narromine Star that the main aim of the charity event later this month, last held in 2023, is to raise as much money as possible for various community groups. “We aim to give out $10,000 a year to anyone in Narromine, Tomingley and Trangie that needs it — we’ve bought wheelchairs for people, funded trips for athletes to Sydney, and given some money to schools across the shire as well,” Lindsay said. “We try to have this event every year or every second
