27 & 28 June 4 & 5 July 11 & 12 July
Inspirational art in homes and studios throughout the city of Peterborough and surrounding villages.
www.paos.org.uk
Welcome
to the 15th annual Peterborough Artists’ Open Studios. We’re delighted to be celebrating our 15th anniversary with you. We now have over 70 artists showing in 27 locations in and around Peterborough (having grown from two artists exhibiting in 2000). We have gone from strength to strength and give our heartfelt thanks to our founders for allowing us to enjoy our current success. We are continually impressed by the diversity of talent among our established and new members. You will have the opportunity to see many art forms including: textiles, jewellery, ceramics, mosaics, digital art, printing and painting in its many forms, in fact something for everyone. I am proud to say that we have a truly vibrant art scene. This year we’re offering you the chance to win £100 worth of vouchers to spend on an artist(s) of your choice. Just share a photo from your visit to an artist on to social media with #winpaos2015 to enter the prize draw. You can use this Directory and the information on our website to plan your visit. You will find useful information about each artist and maps helping you to find them, and can keep the Directory as a handy guide to local artists throughout the year. Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter @ArtPeterborough What to expect You will get a warm welcome at all of our venues, many of which are the artists’ own homes. In some you will be able to look around the gardens and/or enjoy refreshments so look for the next to the artist’s information. symbols : In some venues there will be more than one artist exhibiting. Sometimes you will be invited into the artist’s studio to see work in progress as well as finished work: in other venues you will just see the finished art on display. You will be able to talk to the artists about their work and methods and in some venues you will be able to see demonstrations. There will be work for sale wherever you go. Entry is free and there will never be any obligation to buy. We ask that you respect the venues wherever you go, bearing in mind that you will often be in the artist’s private home. Please note that whilst cash and cheques are usually acceptable a few artists may accept cards. Access As most venues are private homes, disabled access may be limited so if in doubt, please telephone the artists in advance to discuss your requirements. Liability and Copyright The Peterborough Artists Open Studios Group cannot accept liability for any loss, damage or injury sustained by any member of the public visiting any of the venues. The public does so entirely at its own risk. The copyright in all artists’ images in this Directory, on our website and in all works on display is owned by the individual artists. We hope you enjoy your visits. Hilary Dunne Chairman PAOS

The inspiration for my images stems from my personal experiences and memories. I consider form, colour, line and texture in order to recreate an abstract or representational interpretation.
My Textile-Art is influenced by the qualities of different fabrics, colour and stitch work. Free-machining, hand stitch and mixed media add to the decorative imagery.

Veronika Leontyeva Mixed Media and Oil Artist 07891 567999
Drawing inspiration from Far Eastern textiles, I strive to create paintings that reflect the passage of time; fabrics transformed through handling, sunlight fading and softening the colours and atmospheric tarnishing.
Enthralled by the British landscapes Veronika creates minimalist loosely brushed compositions. Expressing what is inside and stripping away superfluity she pursues a unique and profoundly contemporary style

I love the joy of moving paint over a canvas exploring colour and form. Subjects include portraits, landscape and imagery in varied styles, often influenced by the Tate Modern.
Stylised nature, sometimes surreal visions. Warm mediterranean colours and blue skies. I love colour. My latest idea is to paint what the earth might look like in 10000 years time.
