LIKEASTAR SHE FEATURED IN ISSUE 1 OF THE MAGAZINE AND NOW SHE IS BACK FOR MORE,, WE TALK WITH LEAH ABOUT NEW TATTOOS, MUSIC VIDEOS, ACTING ,WORKING HARD AND MORE So whats good Leah, how you been? Ive been great thanks considering year 2013 I was dreading but it’s been quite a good productive year for me a lot has happend Its been a good year for you and you have been working hard,, we love it, make sure you keep it up in 2014, we see that you have been getting some ink,, what have you got

thats new? My main piece is on my shoulder/chest adding to my sleeve. It’s an art drawing by an artist called Sue Tsai from nyc. Im in love with her work as you can connect with her piece's. I saw one drawing and for months knew I had to have it. I pondered for a while wether it would look good on the body as it could be destroyed in tattoo form but thankfully Vicky Norton from Cannock ink

Midlands can recreate her work accurately and I’ve never been so happy with a tat. It looks cool, we like it Thanks I'll be visiting Vicky again to have more added next year. I have also been visiting my regular tattooist who is more near to home Terry Kaiju Brown Tales of inkspiration Croydon to have my guns and roses finished on my leg and a

COVER FEATURE dream catcher added. my leg is dedicated to my family and my native indian heritage. Me and terry have been discussing my next tat to hopefully get my idea finished. Its good that you sit down with your artist to plan your ink, what are you going to get done next? I would like my leg finished early next year with my native indian tats and also my japanese peice added to. Terry is amazing at dragons so think that will be the next move. We dont think we asked you this but do you use numbing cream? Lol NO I wish I did with my dream catcher. That was on the back of my leg and if that was my 1st tattoo I don’t think I would of gone beyond that. Its the only tattoo that has hurt me. But nah I don't use it it can tighten the skin and make tattooing harder for your tattooist. Thats true, who is your tattoo artist,, give them a big up.. The ones I named above I must be psychic beat you too it lol. but Terry and vicki and I must also do a shout out to Lisa law at tribal ink she has

done small peices on me but always fits me in wen I need a tat fix. I love everyone's work so don’t believe in always sticking to the same tattooist but respect each of their work and want it on me. Tattoos to me are like collecting art. What is the worst tattoo you have seen in your life?

I despise gang tattoos when their are obscene or stupid words written across the head/face. I don't mind face tattoos if their done tastefully and would love one when im older but having shit written across a forehead isn't my idea of art. Ok so not only are you doing your modeling thing,, you have also started doing some acting,, we see you doing your thing in the web show unfamous,, we liked it,, how did you get on it? I've been acting since young its not new its one of my main

passions. I’m friends with the director and creator on facebook, actors kinda have each other on all social networks and she asked if I was free to do a small role. When I was on set i met people I previously worked with acting world is pretty small and I love it. You never know when one job will lead to another role just by someone you have met on set. I've done films and got to act alongside Patrick Stewart and Richard E Grant when I was younger. Being on a major film set made me feel like this was were I belonged. Its because

of this im not covered as much as I would like with tats. I look very young for my age so Im cast in more teen roles so need to make sure my tats can be covered Its very annoying as im itching to get my neck tatted. Im studying, working and a single mum so acting has taken a back seat for a bit. Are we going to see you doing some more acting in 2014? Yes a new dvd is out Surviving the Hood which I have the main role and got to act alongside my son Phoenix. I

Love Ithat I get to share my passion with my son and he enjoys being centre stage too. We are both filming for reality show Divas On Demand following mine and Phoenixs life. We love it, you have done some good photo shoots, apart from our photo shoot for issue one, what shoot have you had the most fun on so far and what was it for? I find it weird that I do shoots and get asked to do them as im only

It was amazing but dont great to work with professional belive its easy...its far from I people. had sand everywhere and took weeks to get it out my hair.

Thats so true, talking about working with the pros, you also are in the new Littlemix video,, that must have been fun, and the Director is a hiphop legend Director X. Yeah it was a very long day but I loved it. I got to meet one of my modeling idols LOLO who is very talented in so many ways. She is a MUA but does modeling herself as well a being very creative for shoots. She did my makeup that day and I appreciate working with ethical and down to earth people. He was a great guy to he has visions and loves to get things done the way its meant to be. You can see his passion for his work and I admire that. what other projects have you done that we have missed out,,lol? So weird a year has gone past already and when I think of everything I have done I don't know how I got through it. Had a few downs but the ups were epic. Sometimes I forget what i've done until an email pops up lol. What have you got planned for 2014? Im keeping my head down and

taking a bit of a back seat with acting dance and modeling. Im on my level 4 diploma studying counselling and I need to make sure I pass. Although acting and modeling is my passion you always need backup. I currently work at a hospital with antenatal and young mums. I love my job and patients and glad i've been lucky enough to mix everything and be multi talented. For all them people that say you cant work and be tatted i've proven thats not true. I've worked for the nhs over 8 years and they have moved with the times. Tattoos are now a way of life you can be tattooed and employed. Whats your twitter? To be honest I dont get on with social sites already had stalkers and im not even known! People have too much time on their hands and no life. I rarely go on but twitter is @likeastar5

Who do you want to big up and show some love to? Only big up is to my son PhoenixKai he has been on the rollercoaster of 2013 with me and I am so proud of him. Hes the reason I try so hard. I hope he is proud and i've shown him that anything is possible. any dream can be made a reality just depends how much you want it :) thanks for talking with us and keep up the hard work. show the world what time it is.

ISSUE 4 - INK TALK This issue I decided to write about chest pieces on ladies. Chest pieces seem to be all the rage right about now in the tattoo world. Even more so for the girls! Chest tattoos have been trending a while. But this year i have noticed the girls have been really going for it! The girls are going hard with massive pieces ranging from scripts, roses and skulls all seem to be favourites i would say in the top 3!! Although in fairness i have seen some amazingly original pieces that don't include either. Personally I think chest pieces tend me more statement pieces for women as they are a lot harder to hide, specially in the colder months. A very big

GIRLS & CHEST PIECES decision to be made and not one to be taken lightly. When executed well, they can be extremely beautiful pieces especially on ladies. Just make sure you choose the right artist!

In terms of my company and brand, I'm the owner and Head Of Creative of Urban XL, a music & film production company based here in London and also in Atlanta, USA. I travel a LOT and up to a few years ago also had an apartment in Buckhead, Atlanta. What made you start doing photo shoots and music videos? It was a natural transition. What people may not know is I've always been creative. I used to produce music, I even studied music in college. Shit, I was the first to sign TAIO CRUZ to his first ever record contract! Wow, thats a good look And that was when I was just 19! That was with the first company I incorporated. As you know, after that his single "Dynamite"

Now, as part of my incredible London and I shoot the Urban XL team are based in Atlanta, accompanying music video for it! we done a lot of things that the typical Lol, the business brain at play At the time I had never shot a music video before, but I just knew I could. Up to that point, I had been 1st AD for a number of music videos. But here's two key things for any entrepreneurial person: (1) playing to your strengths is good, but identifying your weaknesses is just as important, so (2) surround yourself with the best people possible with which you can delegate to filling any gaps in your skill set. With that approach I made sure I had an experienced team around me and we made it happen! That video & song

Actually, in this 4min reel you can see clips of the Lil Wayne studio session, live shows around the world and much more: We shot the music video for his single "Call Me" out in Puerto Rico. What a beautiful island.. Thats actually one of my favourite music videos I've shot. I've done work with US superstar rapper T.I's record label Grand Hustle out in Atlanta, including having one of his artists collaborate with a UK music producer I manage called Xzike. I've done lots of behind scenes consulting for brands both here and in the US (some of it deliberately uncreditd), including the US launch of a record label.

artist without a major-label deal wouldn't be able to.

I've also helped individuals get out of bad contracts. I actually got a certain UK music producer out of a restrictive contract, which then allowed him to sign a publishing deal with Sony Music and last year have a number one UK chart record selling over 400,000 copies. Which was nice [laughs].

What other US artists have you worked with? We collaborated with Lil Wayne and Nu Jerzey Devil on the official "Different Girlz" remix, toured with Trey Songz and J.Holiday throughout the UK, performed again with Trey Songz in Barbados, toured in numerous countries and cities such as Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Miami, Atlanta and God knows how many other places.

Lol, sounds nice, we love it I also have done a lot of TransAtlantic collaborations, including a "JuiceBlack presents..." Project which saw UK artists collaborating with US artists over my productions. We shot the debut single for that in Atlanta, USA and it also

INK PEOPLE -JUICE BLACK featured UK actor/rapper Ethix aka Chris Steward, co-star of the major feature film "Life & Lyrics" (also starring Ashley Walters). Also, worked a lot with Loko and the Oomp Camp, out in Atlanta. I shot one their videos called "Hustle". It was an Oomp Camp producer that produced the breakout global hit "Low" with Flo-Rida and TPain. With guns everywhere and rolling deep with them out in Simpson Road, Atlanta, that was one of many memorable experiences I've had. Lets talk about ink, do you have

So what is the best tattoo you have seen on a girl? Ah that is easy! It's gotta be on Lola Lovell, the UK model, actress and presenter on late-night adult TV. She is also easily my favourite model to work with. We done a pin up shoot back when we first started working together, and we both were blown away by the shots. She loved it so much she actually got her favourite shot tattooed on her leg! Its a topless full body portrait of her on her calf. It looks so good and is humbling to know that she liked our collaboration so much she chose to have it forever tattooed on her skin. I could only find a picture of it after the first unfinished session, but as you can see it looks great. It was done by Biko at Ink Lounge.

Lets talk about this photo shoot.. any tattoos? hot girls in milk baths.. the look I love tattoos, but I only have two is creative and we love it... tell (at the moment). We are going to be working together in 2014 on some projects that are going to be crazy but what other projects have you got planned for the new year? Yep I know we're gonna be doing some amazing things when Urban XL and PAPERCHASERS INK collaborate! We'll be working with Lola Lovell as she launches her premium site www.LolaLovell.com, and also as she branches out into other arenas. Finally, 2014 will see Urban XL expand further internationally as we bring to fruition the deals we closed in 2013. Many things at the moment we can't announce publicly just yet, but it includes markets in Africa, the Caribbean and Asia. Who do you want to big up and show some love too?

ISSUE 4 - JOKES

JOKES A man bumps into a woman in a hotel lobby and as he does, his elbow goes into her breast. They are both quite startled. The man turns to her and says, 'Ma'am, if your heart is as soft as your breast, I know you'll forgive me.' She replies, 'If your penis is as hard as your elbow, I'm in room 221.

My ex-girlfriend had a tattoo of a sea shell on her inner thigh. If you put your ear to it, I swear you could smell the ocean. One night, as a couple lays down for bed, the husband

starts rubbing his wife's arm. The wife turns over and says 'I'm sorry honey, I've got a gynecologist appointment tomorrow and I want to stay fresh..' The husband, rejected, turns over. A few minutes later, he rolls back over and taps his wife again. 'Do you have a dentist appointment tomorrow too?'

Bill worked in a pickle factory. He had been employed there for a number of years when he came home one day to confess to his wife that he had a terrible compulsion... He had an urge to stick his penis into the pickle slicer. His wife suggested that he should see a sex therapist

to talk about it, but Bill said he would be too embarrassed.. He vowed to overcome the compulsion on his own. One day a few weeks later, Bill came home and his wife could see at once that something was seriously wrong. 'What's wrong, Bill?' she asked. 'Do you remember that I told you how I had this tremendous urge to put my penis into the pickle slicer?' 'Oh, Bill, you didn't' she exclaimed. 'Yes, I did.' he replied... 'My God, Bill, what happened?' 'I got fired.' 'No, Bill. I mean, what happened with the pickle slicer?' 'Oh...she got fired too.

"Eagle? I thought you said BEAGLE." "We're all out of red, so I used pink." "There are 2 Os in Bob, right?" "Just let me toss back another shot and we’ll get started." "Don’t worry, this is a one of a kind tattoo. Your clover has five leaves, not four." "Gosh, I hate it when I get the hiccups." "If you don’t like it, don’t panic. I do bitchin’ cover-ups."

Hard work always pays off and we love people who are ambitious and determined to show their creative skills to the world so we had to catch up with London based up and coming Makeup artist and body painter Tamara to see whats good, if you dont know her name, dont worry, you soon will. She has worked with people like Jessie J, Ruff Squad and Tinchy Stryder and companies like Mtv, Puma, BBC Childen in need, L’oreal, Black beauty magazine and lots more.

INK PEOPLE - TAMARA GITTER So Tamara, when did you go down the makeup route? I was always artistic and I wanted to get a degree so I started off doing an access for art and design course. While doing the course I was intrigued by the idea of art for the face. So all my projects that first year at college were based around makeup, body art and special effects. I researched different artists and started by practicing on everyone I knew. From there, I went on to do my degree in specialist makeup. After I graduated it was a bit of a hustle to generate work in the early years.

Actually funny you should say that, I also do semi-permanent tattoos that last up to 5 days. Clients come to me when they are unsure of what tattoo to get or IF they really want a tattoo. I design the tattoo and place on the skin either by using a pre made transfer or freehand. The client will go home and get an idea of what it feels like to have a tattoo. If they’re happy then they go and get the tattoo done for real. But I could never do

BLACK G RLS

INKED

We talk with Sherrell the boss of BGI, about her ink and the facebook page that has been repping urban tattoo culture on the net with hot inked girls. We love people who are pushing the urban tattoo culture so we had to show you some love, so how have you been Sherrell? I am good thanks. So for all the people out there who like hot girls with ink that would have seen your Facebook page,,BLACK GIRLS INKED we love it as well, sexy girls with tattoos, thats our shit, how did it all get started? Well Black Girls Inked got started after I had my son in 2009. I had three little tattoos n I started inking up again. One day I seen a page, I won't mention and decided I'd share a photo with them, I did notice it wasn't a lot of dark skinned girls on the page but I shared anyway and I got

FEATURE - BLACK GIRLS INKED racist comments out the ass. Thats fucked up I know so I came up with a page, that show case more dark skinned females with ink, and other race as well of my liking. I decided to call it Black Girls Inked and the LIKES shot up to the sky. People love, the page Ink is a has about 60,000 s r e s a h C r e ‘’Pap e, it's likes, you have a real n i z a g a m t grea passion for tattoos, t of o l a n a h t r bette s I've how many do you e n i z a g a m known have? ’’ s s o r c a e m ca Yes I love tattoos!!! I am an InkLover lol...I honestly lost count of my tattoos and most of them are huge pieces or connected together. I'm just an inked up diva lol. Lol, we love it, how do you deal with the pain when getting inked? Getting inked is my pleasure because I know I'm getting some beautiful artwork done. I just put on my favorite songs and close my eyes and eventually the pain is gone. Get into the zone, what are you going to get done next? My next tattoo would be me

FEATURE - BLACK GIRLS INKED either finishing up my left thigh, of my Chinese Pixiu or starting a background for the tattoos on my back. What part of the body would you not get tattooed? I would say I wouldn't get my face tattooed but I thought of getting my eyebrows done and my mole darkend but that's about it. The reason it's not done now because it has to be Kat Von D or Ami James to tattoo my face cosmetically lmbo. what is next for BLACK GIRLS INKED? Hmmm I want to start selling products, like tshirts, hats, shot glasses, Black Girls Inked parties and I even want to start taking my own photos of other tattooed people and maybe later on down the line start doing calendars. Thats a good look, whats the best thing about running the page?

The best thing about running Black Girls Inked is my supporters actually sending photos for me to showcase their tattoos/artwork and I get a lot of love and support. My LIKES go up everyday. Whats is the best tattoo you have ever seen on dark skin? The best tattoos I've ever seen on dark skin is a colorful tattoo. Every time I see dark skin with awesome color, I smile because most people think it's impossible to see color on dark skin. We like them as well, what tattoo models do you like the best right now? The tattoo models I like the best right now would be Britanie Girard, Britanny Slam, Che' Mack, Ashle Danger, Rio, Davonna PrettyInInk Flanagan, Naomi Davis, Dutchess Lattimore and those are just to name a few.

They are all hot girls, what is the sexist tattoo you have seen and on who? The sexiest tattoo I've seen was on "Tatted Up Holly" her sleeve was well done and chic. Actually all her tattoos and her body compliments it all lol. What do you think of PAPERCHASERS INK magazine so far? PaperChasers Ink Magazine is a great magazine, it's better than a lot of known magazines I've came across. It's bad ass because it's straight from the UK and it has a lot of articles and photos for people to indulge in. I love it and I'm honored to be apart of it!! Your welcome, we love your hustle as well, Thank you for talking with us,, ink love Thank you for talking with me XoXo See some of the inked girls from the BGI page on the

‘’We bring you some news from the gaming world to keep you upto date with whats going on, whats new and whats on the way’’

Second Son is set seven years after the ending of Infamous 2, in which Cole MacGrath activated the Ray Field Inhibitor (RFI) to destroy a Conduit (super humans named for their ability to "channel" powers) named John White, also known as the Beast. The explosion that resulted was originally thought to have killed all Conduits across the globe; however, those outside of the blast radius or with a natural resistance have survived. Fearing the Conduits' abilities after the destruction of Empire City, the US eastern seaboard and the worldwide economy, the Department of Unified Protection (DUP) is formed. Now, major cities across the United States are heavily monitored for Conduit activity, whom the DUP have labelled collectively as "bioterrorists", the game is out on the march 21

HIPHOP MIXTAPE

REVIEW

Yes people! It's your girl Dekay back again with a few more reviews for all you tatted up hip hop heads out there! Lets have a look at what's good to play if you're already sick of Christmas carols this season...

Apex Zero - Reality Provoking Liberation The sixth release from London hip hop artist Apex Zero kicks in with a bang. Straight away your thrown into a world of power struggles, corrupt politics and conspiracy theories.. oh wait, that's reality. I enjoyed each one of the fifteen tracks, with a strong delivery from Apex, quality production, thought provoking topics and relevant use of samples. One of my favourites on first play was 'A Meeting of the Continents', feat. Hasan Salaam and Iron Braydz. The features are good and bring something to the collaborations, rather than just having been thrown on there for the sake of it. A decent listen, worth pressing repeat for sure. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD

Dekay and Rukas So Under Rated Well, as a fellow struggling artist out here, I thought I'd make a habit of reviewing my own releases too.. why not? So Under Rated is a collection of collaborations from myself and fellow London based rapper Rukas, with a mix of tracks from each of our albums that we featured on together, plus several brand new exclusives. I won't presume to tell you it's the best thing since sliced bread - cause that was cheese toasties but it is a worthwhile listen, and a free download to boot (payment optional). The blend of styles and the wide array of topics makes for an entertaining journey, with a range of production both UK and international. If you want to know or emphasise with the struggles of unemployable, depressed but still holding onto a sense of humour, slightly deranged underground lyricists, then this album captures that vibe perfectly. Enjoy! CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD

ISSUE 4 HIPHOP MIXTAPE GILLY My Reality This is a Bristol based artist I'd never heard of before, so listened to the 15 track album with interest. My Reality, hosted by Mykal Million (who I assume is the guy that drops in with a random intro at the start of each song) begins with an acapella intro and moves into the kind of beat you would have heard on Channel U in the afternoon (before it changed to A.K.A.) Dig a little deeper into the album, past the underwhelming first track, and I was pleased to discover good solid beats with chant along hooks, coupled with Gilly's heartfelt flow about.. well, his reality. The title track has a hook that sounds out of sync with the beat, but the rest doesn't disappoint. An album that doesn't break any ground, but covers it well. Worth blasting out of your car and banging your head to while bunning a big spliff.. Favourite track for me on first listen was Mikael - great beat, CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD

Menace Mendoza Speech Therapy I met Slough based rapper Menace back in the days at a rap battle tournament, and was impressed by his first E.P so thought I'd check one of his more recent releases. Speech Therapy is a collection of quality rap tracks, with the Dragon Stout drinking Mendoza mixing a confident, polished flow with a collection of laid back synth and sample laden beats. Favourite track for me was 'Dutty Germ'. All in all, a good listen and worth playing more than once. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD

REVIEW Shotty Horroh The Wall E.P Manchester based Shotty came to my attention through his Don't Flop battles, but turns out to have an impressive collection of albums and E.P's. The Wall E.P is his latest release, thrown out onto Bandcamp in November. On the opening track Shotty mixes skillfully crafted bars with a few personal reflections ("My nana died when I was flying to the States, I was trying to make her rich I guess that I was too late"). The production throughout the next few songs is consistent, with undertones of a Tupac influence slipping out in 'Cold'. (I half expected some chick to start singing Brenda's got a baby at any minute in a nineties drawl.) All in all, more a bottle of water than my cup of tea - no complaint with the bars, just with the slightly sickly production on fifty percent of the beats. Favourite track? Has to be 'Give A Fuck'.

Oliver Sudden Phenomenal Steaz

Olly Suds is a well known and liked figure on the underground hip hop scene, and he brings the goods with his last release Phenomenal Steaz (released on Boom Bap Professionals this time last year.)

A real hip hop vibe accompanies Croydon based Sudden's laid back flow that perfectly matches the smooth head nodding beats, and each track is worth playing through without skipping. The

album is boosted by stellar performances from the featured artists, and nothing disappoints. Stand out track for me was Council Clan feat. Majestic & Sinar-Matic - mainly because of the beautifully old school sampled beat. Now that's my pint of cider, never mind a cup of tea. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD

MC ANGEL LYRICALLY CHALLENGED WE TALK WITH HIPHOP ARTIST ANGEL ABOUT TATTOOS, REAL HIPHOP,

MUSIC - MC ANGEL

Whats good Angel, how are you? I am absolutely great!! Everything is good, been a mad busy super productive challenging year. Let the people know who you are? I am a Rapper, Performance Poet, actress, workshop leader, event organiser and promoter. So you are into tattoos, how many do you have? I have 36 purple stars, spinning from my wrist around my arms across my shoulders then up my

neck, purple to represent my spiritually and stars to remind me to be a star but to keep stardom linked to my spirit. 3 abstract buterflys on my back, shoulder and top of my arm, to represent transformation, when we are in the darkest times thinking like is over we emerge with wings painted the colours of our trauma, elevating us higher. a celtic knot on my stomach. When did you get your first one? I got my forst tattoo when I was 17, I just really wanted a tattoo I didn’t care much what it was I just wanted something celtic to represent my irish background. My

mum took me and it was very painful, I hated it for years but now my mother has passed away I LOVE it as I appreciate the gift and our bonding over tattoo’s. How do you deal with the pain, whats your vice? My last sitting was 7 hours straight and I didn’t feel the pain, I got into a zone with the artist and I totally relaxed and enjoyed the session. What tattoo shop do you go to and who is your artist? The artist I have been working with recently is Touka Voodoo from Devine Canva, all his work is free hand.

MUSIC - MC ANGEL of hip-hop, revolution is the freedom to be who you really are. Give me a little list of the artists who have been at the event? Akala, English Frank, Logic, Big Cakes, Ti2bs, Native Sun, Belle Humble, Fiona Bevan, Bodecia Dance Crew, Girls on Top graffiti crew, Baby Sol, Laura Steel, Dean Atta, KIngpin, Sonny Green, Lena Cullen, Aina Roxx, bass6 Hobbit, MC Zani……

Are you going to get anymore tattoos? What you going to get? I want soooooo many tattoo’s now!! I want to get NMRK on the knuckles of my right hand, I want to get a tribal lotus flower on my left shoulder in the same place as my butterfly on the right shoulder, both symbols related to my buddhist practice.

a space to share new work, raw emotional pieces not just pieces that we know will get an applause. The event has been supported by Passing Clouds since the start, with Eleanor Wilson and Alia Hussian an event run by all females. Lyrically Challenged expa nded and grew into a two floor mini hiphop festival featuring all 5 elements of hiphop plus spoken word, stalls for clothes, jewellery sellers and singers. We have an open mic to start the event and hip-hop cyphers throughout the evening. I now run the event with my right hand woman Shay D and have been supported by Sonority and Connie Bell during the journey.

n o e m w o Whats the worst l l o r F e tattoo you have t t twi eluk ever seen, lol? g I generally only see n a c really good tattoo’s or @m that is all my mind chooses to remember. Ok so you are apart of Lyrically Challenged hiphop event,, you guys have doing your thing,, we love it,, how did it all get started? I started running Lyrically Challenged four years ago as a small spoken word event, the idea is to challenge artists each month to write a new piece with no winner. I created

we are about creating a platform for artists to express there truth Uniting the scene through the love

You also rap and are apart of the LC Collective,, who is in the group? Shay D, rapper, Sirena Reynolds, rapper, Emma Prior feature singer, DJ Shorty scratch dj extrondonaire And tell the people what you lot are about? ‘love and growth through hip-hop we are about unity, about speaking up about your struggle, empowing people, inspiring audiences with our stories. A powerful collective of women who encourage eachother to shine. We feel women are under represented in hip hop and the mainstream attitude seems to be that of competitiveness amoungst women. We all have relevant and inspiring stories to share and have overcome our own personal struggles. We talk openly and honestly in our music. We have just released our mixtape ‘trust your struggle’, have a new

MEMBERS INTERVIEW

DANIEL SPECTA WE TALK ABOUT INK, ACTING AND LIFE Whats good with you,, thanks for joining us as a member,, Not much ATM just non stop work in a boring job longing for a change, I crave excitement and it's just not readily available as much as it used to be, When the TV and modelling work come in that's always a bonus the power of TV is mad, I featured in the last series of "HUSTLE" for no longer than 30 seconds in total all in all and to this day I still get people recognising me from it which is good and bad good in the way it gets me roles some people say "don't you hate that you always get type castes" I reply not really if my image gets me work then so be it it's only acting (mainly villains, thugs, dealers and

prisoners) depending in what programme I feature in it had to be left a long time before I am used in the same programme again because of how distinctive I am. You do stand out with your ink and that’s a good thing, What got you into tattoos? thing is it all started from me having a phobia of needles sick of dodging the dentist or having to go on the anxiety register so at 19 I said this is the behaviour of a p***y and I'm no longer the timid boy I was who wouldn't go to town by himself or have sex till he was 18, so I got my 1st one on my chest and things progressed never ever did I think I would have so many but over time I had all these ideas and wanted them on for keeps,

What do you family think of your ink? My mum hates every single one she made me promise not to have anymore.‌ I've broke that promise server all times (sorry mum) tattoos were never gonna go down well with a Jamaican Christian at least we still love each other anyway haha, Ok so you have done abit of modeling for some clothing brands like F2D, what other brands have you worked with? I still don't really class myself as a model because I don't/can't pose and have a bad posture after 5+ years of sloughing but when Fresh2Def approached me I jumped at the chance if people want me to model for them I don't refuse, things have stepped up a lot since the first shoot I wasn't aware

People really believe I have more confidence than I do but I really don't although if you saw me 7 years ago you wouldn't recognise me I wasn't really happy with my appearance lets just say that so that's why I was always Unconfident (as a teen I had severe acne from 15 all the way till 19 constantly f**king up my

e h t d e s ru e v e y n m e n v i a h m I ‘’ crea ct for g n i b num lose respe life I ne that has’’ anyo game) besides my tattoo on my neck for my daughter the tattoo on the back of my arm of "the mask" sums up how my life changed (when my skin cleared up and women were finally interested Smiling face with open mouth and smiling eyes) You are good friends with tattoo karlo who we featured in issue one,,, We see your doing music together,, how do you know each other? Yeah me an Karlo are good mates I knew Karlo before he was tattoo Karlo, when we'd walk past each other it town both clocking each other swag for fashion and tatts it was this that one day got us talking and we've been mates ever since, we've done a few shoots together and always catch up to have a joke when we can, we both write so in time you can more than likely expect a collab, Thats a good look, How many tattoos do you have so far? last time I counted I had 70 or so tatts but many of mine are small I would say I'm half way there, What was your last one that you got done? The last tattoo I had was on my stomach which I thought I was gonna sail thru but that's going in my top 3 for pain so far it was my "duty to serve" one which is a spin on one of those you green soldiers but instead of holding a gun he's holding a woman's leg this is to signof my love for women,

MEMBERS INTERVIEW What do you think of PAPERCHASERS INK so far? I'm loving what you guys are doing

because the more tattoos are shown the more they become accepted "I've had so many youngers come to me at work saying how did you get a job here" I say it's just how you carry yourself That’s so real I've got nothing offensive, I ain't wore a hat or track suit for 3 years I don't bop and I only talk the odd bit of slang to certain mates and in messages, How do you deal with the pain when getting inked,, you dont use that numbing cream shit do you, lol? I have never used the numbing cream in my life I lose respect for anyone that has I will take a lie detector test on air that's how certain I am how many can say that? I can't even drink or take drugs because I've never used any drug and have only ever been drunk once in my life and that was by accident....I was tricked, So your a music artists as well,, I make lyrics/spoken word I've been writing for the best part of 5 years got a lot of tunes to record although I have performed lyrics at events but gave that up because I always got too nervous before going on stage,

Keep doing your thing, so what tattoo artists and shop do you get your ink from? I have the up most respect for my tattoo artist JAY @blackdiamondzuk (he also did Wiley/eski boys tatt) he's so good at what he does and has his own still the biggest regret I have is that I didn't go to him 1st as some of my earlier tatts were done elsewhere by an apprentice and could have been done better but my good ones defo outweigh my baddens, We all have our bad ones. What is the worst tattoo you have seen in your life? worse tattoo I can't put my finger one just one all I will say is face tattoos are getting out if hand if you gonna get something make it small and discreet that's your face for gods sake! Lol, what new ink have you got planned next? Next tattoo..I will keep you posted I don't like to tell before it's on I always think, what if I told someone and they went and got it before I had chance then i was made out to be a copy naa I can't have that that's a Kruger for me. Thanks for becoming a member and we hope that you have a good 2014.

ZI ZI GLAMROCK TATTOO LOVER ZI ZI JOINS THE MAG How’s things zizi? Great thank you just preparing for my birthday in a couple of days Well happy brithday, you are one of our new members, thanks for joining.. so who is Zizi Glamrockz? Well I guess I would be called a jack of all trades lol but id rather class it as someone who has a lot of

fun with life... im an ALT model and hair technician mainly but also get involved in acting, presenting, comedy, promotions, customising clothes and jewellery and most importantly I am a mother to two beautiful little people !! In all though I describe myself as a fun, sometimes a bit crazy and likes to take risks person

that is always open to new projects and ideas... Lets talk about your ink,, how many tattoos do you have so far? I have 15 tattoos in total so far but have done about 45 hrs in the chair !! What made you start getting ink? I grew up on the same road as the now world famous tattoo artist michael rose... I

MEMBERS INTERVIEW remember being about 8 years old walking past his house with a sign saying tattoos on the wall everyday on my way to school and desperately wanting ink... I was so obsessed I managed to get my first tatt at just 15. What shop and tattoo artists do you go to? KARMA MEET THE MAN THAT IS ON A MISSION Whats good karma,, how you feeling? Im Good Man, Just Got Out The Gym, U Know, Trying To Get Right, Blame It On The Good Looking Peoples I Shoot, Time A Brother Got Tight And Right Lol.. Uno!! #Gymtime ( Tweet If Ur Up In There Doing Your Thing) So how has 2013 been for you? 2013 was/is a cool year, was the year karma view photography took the step to erotica, as both me and my

business partner have that naughty side, you wouldn't believe how cool the adult workers are, I mean, I haven't found a diva yet, but on the fashion side, that breed of model is like 3 in 10, ands I dislike them, lets just work don't ever think you bigger than anyone else, coz the most unkown person in the room and be next years biggest star. a reason we have the #HumbleYourAssProject, coz looks fade and when they do

only your mind-set will be remembered. For all the people who dont know who you are,, let them know. I am karma Monero, an photographer, art worker, co founder of karma view photography, also the founder of karma art work/karma tees ( even tho you made see other with names like ours, don't believe the hype.) I am a father of a 2 year, best gift/blessing of my life

MEMBERS INTERVIEW going back, I was a club promoter in my teens and 20s, and also started a website call 831females (I love you females) which grew into a team/family where I was promoting posers and models. We see that your into your ink,, what have you got done so far? So far, well I got my 1st one after my maths GCSE test, ran from the hall to home, change and pow I was in there lol, but I am not so proud of it now, its a Chinese tattoo that's "meant" to say " soul and spirit",

with the n a m o w e h t ‘’ , I think k c a b r e h n o "shit" iend to r f y o b x e n a she got at's just do it lol.... th foolish’’ but as I don't speck Chinese, kind of foolish, but leave it there to remind me not to hype when getting my ink, plus the upside is a Chinese's girl told me it does have "spirit" in it lol What tattoo shop do you go to? HAPPY SAILOR hackney road,

james and tota.. best around, no question!! Big up all the east london shops, what is the next tattoo your going to get? not sure yet, I have like 10 ideas at a time, it will be the one that stays in the top 5, also has to be smoething I will never change my mind on. NEVER!! What is the best tattoo you have seen in your life? Was my name ( both nick name and real name) ink on the mother of my 1st born, that's the best ink :) even more so where its placed :) other than that, I have seen some great "art work" done, but to tell you about them , we would be here all day. What is the worst? So many lol... but the one that comes to mind right now is the one of the woman with the "shit" on her back, I think she got an ex boyfriend to do it lol.... that's just foolish You hit the london tattoo convention this year,, what was it like? LOVED IT! its like anything in

MEMBERS INTERVIEW life, im a gooner, so when im around north London and people going to the game its like family, same at the convention, loads of people who luv ink, so we all family, but I did feel like "the new" guy with my 11 tattoos, people there go half and full body ink, face, the whole of their legs, wild!! luv every min of it!! cant wait to hit another. I think you guys should try and be at one, a lot of ink mags are there. everyone has their own way of what they love about the ink world. hope to see you at one. we are going to work with you on some projects soon,, shit is going to be crazy,,lol. Ok you are a hard worker and you love doing shoots,, how many shoots have you done so far? Wow, good question, but I have no idea, for sure more than 100, but as a clean pro who knows, maybe just under, maybe, but once we make the moves to new things, I black out Tell us some thing funny that has happened to you

this year, lol? Nothing really, I find things funny tho... how sexy legs tulisa and her boy mike can NOT be lock up, ( I dnt want no one to go to jail like tupac) but ive seen the clips, thats like tulisa saying its not her on the sex tape.... "DO THEY KNOW WE CAN SEE THEM lol... u gotta "luv" the law when u see shit like that, I hope IF me and you was to get catch like that, no one goes to jail, coz that's alright init... lol joke ting Lol, you got jokes Or how the x-factor people can openly say "ITS NOT ABOUT THE VOICE and people still watch, they just told you your watching a fix and you still watch and vote, I cant even watch for jokes anymore... its sad when people are trying and the powers that be just openly take the piss... things I find funny!! Apart from working with us what have you got planned for 2014? 2014 cant wait, working with paperchaserink will be fun, We start pushing KVPs 1st

HELL YES, hope I don't 4get no one, thank you guys for having me, Bosslady becks ( KVP co founder, shit wouldn't be if not for her work rate), my #KGals and #GimmieGirl ( promoting teams of females) BIG SHOUT OUT to all KVP supporters, trust me they go in hard, #iamKarma photos rain in to show that luv. to name a few tisha, lousie, Pablo, vibes, aditi, miss murray, my cheeky girl faddy, nic nic, aimee, kitty kat, fiza, hot

MIKA MEET THE CEO OF SUGAR & SPIKES How are things Mika? Things are pretty rad and never boring! Thanks for joining us as a member. So tell us about yourself? I am the CEO of Sugar & Spikes, Casting Director, Event Coordinator, Actor, Blogger and Tattoo Enthusiast. I began my journey with acting, majoring in theatre in college. Being

an alternative talent; ethnically ambiguous with tattoos and a mohawk, I found that casting directors would often tell me I did not fit a specific category. After working on several projects, I decided to take a break from acting and work behind the scenes in the entertainment industry. I worked for companies like, ABC daytime television, Clear Channel and ESPN. My acting and industry experience would later prove valuable when

creating my company, Sugar & Spikes Casting. When I am not being a workaholic, I love being the coolest nerd you'll ever meet! I enjoy attending Comic Con and Horror Conventions. I am into playing video games, reading comic books and watching Adventure Time. I am an adventurer and love trying new things every year. This past year, I got into directing music videos. Last year, I was performing burlesque and the

MEMBERS INTERVIEW year before that I was studying Krav Maga and camping in the Adirondacks Mountains...who knows what I will get into next?! You are the CEO/Casting Director at Sugar & Spikes Casting, whats it all about? About 5 years ago, I created Sugar & Spikes. What started out as movement in NYC to have the beautiful women of Rock fuse fashion and music into an unforgettable night has evolved into a casting agency that allows those same women to showcase their talent to the masses. Now Sugar & Spikes is a NY based Casting Agency specializes in booking alternative talent; tattooed/body modified models, sideshow performers, variety artists and real people for TV/Film/Print/Fashion. We provide freelance casting support, full casting and development services, on a one-time or ongoing basis. Sugar & Spikes specializes in finding that edge you are looking for. Sugar & Spikes is also recognized as a multicultural alternative talent company who hosts/organizes fashion

events throughout the year to give alternative talent a platform to showcase their talents and professionalism to this industry while raising money/donations for charity. What projects have you worked on so far? As an actress, most recently, I have been featured in an Alexander Wang commercial and had a chance to work with Jodi Foster on an episode of the hit show, Orange is The New Black, where I portrayed an inmate. I have become a published writer for tattoo publications in the U.S. and for sites like Afropunk.com and SugarGamers.com. Sugar & Spikes was featured on TLC's Cake Boss’s current season ("Glow in The Dark Cake," episode 9) with a Zombie Fashion Show attended by Buddy Valestro. Sugar & Spikes booked talent for Spike TV's Ink Master Season 2 & 3 along with talent for AOL National commercial, Howcast.com, NBC and MTV. I also booked talent for designers and print ads. Sugar & Spikes events have been sponsored by major brands such as; Manic Panic, Dobel Maestro,Hangar 1 Vodka, Baked by Melissa and Ricky's.

Lets talk about your ink, how many tattoos do you have so far? I have two large tattoos on my arms; one is a phoenix flying through clouds and Peruvian Lilies and the other is a flower blossoming in the middle of a stormy ocean scene. I have two wrist tattoos; one an African symbol for strength and the other an Incan symbol for female sexuality. I have a a bitten cherry tattoo on my waist and a frog in my mouth! What made you start getting ink? It was definitely a combination of me being an artistic, creative girl growing up listening to metal, rock and punk and living in a religiously conservative household. I felt that there was this colorful, bold person inside of me screaming to get out and I wanted to release her. I wanted to wear who I truly was on the inside...on the outside! Plus, being Black Hispanic girl, meant I had to only fit within one social group at school, listen to

I like to go to different artists. I'm true to my Aquarius nature and like to go where the wind takes me. I believe different periods of my life calls for different energy to bring my ideas to life. What one of your tattoos do you like the most and who was the artist? I love my piece by Tim Hendricks. I got it on this Reality TV show called New York Ink. The show takes follows a tattoo shop and the stories of the well known artists that work there. They tattoo individuals after being inspired by their story and piece idea. I wanted a

tattoo to represent me remaining strong and beautiful through life's most turbulent times. It meant a lot to me because I was at a point in my life where I was reflective and can look at the past and be proud of overcoming obstacles and becoming the woman I can be proud of. Ok so are you going to get anymore tattoos, if so what are you going to get? I plan to get plenty more! My models are always telling me that I need to! LOL. I am very anal about the detail of my work and want to find an artist with the skill to bring my ideas to life. I plan to get something whimsical with a flair of fantasy. I am really a fan of Clive Barker's paintings, so maybe even something horrifically beautiful. What do you think of PAPERCHASERS INK magazine so far? Paperchasers Ink is awesome sauce! I am from the US so it's

MEMBERS INTERVIEW exciting to see what my UK brethren in ink have in store! Whats your plans for next year,, more projects? Next year, expect bigger and better alternative modeling fashion events, the Sugar & Spikes exclusive merch line and definitely more Sugar & Spikes talent plastered all over you TV and computer screens. I will definitely be getting more of my writing published and training in Krav Maga so that I can be a bad ass in a movie one day!
