e are fresh off our beloved Gold Nugget Days and it was wonderful to see so many of our Ridge residents enjoying a perfect day for a parade. Up next is our fabulous summer Party in the Park, then the Chocolate Fest in September and Johnny Appleseed Days in October. It is awesome to see a return to “normal” happening!
It is very encouraging to see businesses reopening and new businesses calling Paradise home. Tractor Supply is a recent addition, and now Grocery Outlet is making a return. A micro-brewery is actively securing property and a distillery is currently in the works. Also coming to Paradise is Road Roaster Coffee Company, a wholesale and retail operation selling coffee beans by the baglook for them at our local events.
Our schools are moving forward with a new gym opening at the high school and a Safe Routes to School project is under
way for Paradise Ridge Elementary.
A broadband study is in the works for high-speed internet, which will make Paradise a more desirable place to live, especially for those working from home. Our sewer project is in the EIR (Environmental Impact Report) phase, and we are confident that we will secure funding to make this long-standing dream a reality, which will be an asset in attracting businesses to our community. Our understanding is that Adventist Health is still working on a free-standing Emergency Room; watch for updates. The Paradise Art Center, Paradise Performing Arts Center and Theatre on the Ridge are making a comeback.
PG&E and Comcast are making great progress in the undergrounding of our utilities and mediation continues with AT&T, as overhead poles are not an option for us. PG&E anticipates finishing the undergrounding ahead of schedule. I am highly optimistic for the recovery of our town and see a very bright future for our Ridge.
I am so proud of the tireless efforts of our staff to help people come home. To all of you, we can never convey enough thanks and gratitude for staying/coming back and it is because of you that we are making these great strides. Thank you Paradise Pioneers!
