I am a professional architect (Ar.) graduated from Universitas Gadjah Mada. Currently an architect intern at a reputable architecture rm. I've been working in several projects related to the architecture eld before. I also worked as an assistant urban planner during my studies. I do freelance for some projects requested by my close acquaintances in free me. These opportuni es gave me a lot of insightful experience from architectural elds. I have encountered many pro les with di erent perspec ve that mo vates me to learn and understand my rule as an architect. I am s ll a long way to become a good architect, but through experiences, trials and errors, I’ll never stop improving my skills and knowledge as a young architect which allows me to further contribute in the eld of architecture. I am now looking forward to achieving new challenges as a junior architect.

GPIB Immanuel Jakarta, which was built star ng in 1834, was completed and inaugurated in 1839. This church was built based on the design of a man named J. Horst who at that me worked as an architect, head of the pawnshop and land surveyor. At that me many buildings in Jakarta (Batavia) were designed not by someone who received an architectural educa on. The Immanuel GPIB Revitaliza on Project is a con nua on of the conserva on project in 2007 which has been implemented in stages, so for further work it is necessary to update the data according to the current condi ons before planning the repair and or conserva on of the GPIB Immanuel Jakarta Cultural Heritage Building. In addi on to design for the improvement of the exis ng building, other work carried out in this revitaliza on stage is to design the elevator facili es to support disability access, in accordance with the wishes of the building owner, as well as planning several church rooms to become mini museums. Planning ligh ng is also included in the design planning of the building.

Along with the growth of the mes, there has been a development of space requirements, that have led to the addi on of room and changes in its func on in the Immanuel Church building. There is an addi on to the priest's room in the form of a consistory room par on. The changes of the func on happened at the management room, which is now become a warehouse on the second oor. This happened for more than 50 years. Due to the increasing space requirements, a special building for the management of GPIB Immanuel was built, so that the func on of the warehouse on the second oor was also moved to the new building. The former warehouse converted into a museum and a mul -func onal space so that there is a living func on in the second oor.

As the site has natural poten al and the aim of the project is to explore the raw nature, the design emphasizes not having to cut down trees.

The access of the resort divided into three access. Public (green), private (blue) and connected with the bridge as semi-private access (orange) .

The implementa on of the raw nature can be seen in the used of local material such as ironwood (ulin). Main concept of the building itself is derived from the tradi onal house lamin, which has gable roof and thread ornament on top of it. With a touch of modern and tropical architecture, the concept becomes a whole.

A suppor ng building for various facili es with 2 oor and a roo op, to be func on as an o ce and mee ng room. The architecture is indeed an Indonesian-faced, with an Archipelago Architectural approach in the Pendopo/Joglo style. Overall material are made of wood, with a ceramic le roof from the ground above a terraco a-coated pedestal building with andesite ooring. A tropical architectural approach which is also rich in open space, according to its func on as a building of worship that can also be a place for inter-religious studies, with the facili es library as well as ins lling na onalism in the context of inter-religious harmony in universi es.

A newly married couple longing for a minimalist modern house where can unwind and enjoy tranquilty while maintaining liveliness. The not-so-far parents house, which is in front of their soon to be house was considered as part of the design transforma on. Achieving the client’s demand and responding to the site and context; the design was conceptualized to a thoughtful puzzle of internal rooms and outdoor gardens that together create the illusion of endless spaces. On another thoughtful ideas, the courtyard spli ng the area of owner private place and owner’s public room. As the whole family like to gather each week on their parents house, this courtyard should work as a gathering place for a larger group.

Gallery and restaurant are one of the tourist facili es that have the poten al to be developed in the City of Bontang. From some data obtained from the eld, the data supports the development of facili es in the culinary sector such as restaurants, where demand for the sector con nues to increase and a racts many people. Procurement of facili es for suppor ng cultural ac vi es in art in Bontang is also one of the factors that is in the development of galleries as exhibi on space and cultural center. From the image of the City of Bontang itself as a Coastal City and these two ac vi es are mostly carried out in the Bontang coastal area which is a strategic loca on, and seeing the poten al of the local area, then this development poten al will be very favourable if it is placed in the coastal area of the sea. Gallery-Resto is a building func on that is developed as a tourism facility that has a marine coastal context.

APPROACH

22

ISSUES GENERAL

The absence of cultural gallery building facili es to support exhibi on ac vi es and the development as well as educa on of cultural history. Ÿ Culinary has become a poten al sector in the coastal area but its culture is s ll limited to the typology of sea village houses and the lack of facili es that support culinary tourism itself. Ÿ Coastal areas that have been par ally polluted by industrial or residen al waste need to be improved and mangrove conserva on ac vi es need to be in place. Ÿ

ARCHITECTURAL How to integrate space with di erent func ons, namely galleries and restaurants which are oriented to the sea coast. How to restore site produc vity Ÿ How to create buildings that are in harmony with the surrounding ecosystem Ÿ

Ÿ

MAIN IDEA

The high regional income from culinary sector in Bontang

Ngada Regency is one of the regencies in East Nusa Tenggara Province with a variety of interes ng tourism poten als to be visited by tourists such as Wolobobo Tourism Park, Bena Indigenous Village, Watunariwono Hill, Ogi Waterfall, Mengeruda Soa Hot Spring, Spiritual Tourism Park Ratu Semesta Alam Wolowio , and Taman Wisata 17 Riung Island and others. The a rac ve tourism poten al can be developed and managed as well as possible, so that it can provide a variety of bene ts for all par es including the community and the environment. The tourism poten al that will be developed in this plan is the Kebun Raya Wolobobo. Kebun Raya Wolobobo which is the rst botanical garden in East Nusa Tenggara Province is located in Beja Village, Bajawa District, Ngada Regency and has an area of 91.81 Ha. This Kebun Raya Wolobobo is a botanical garden that represents a small Sunda Islands Deciduous Forest ecoregion type. The development is carried out not only to make tourist a rac ons but also to preserve the poten al and rare plants found in Kebun Raya Wolobobo. This is done with the aim of crea ng balance ac vi es in environmental, social and economic aspects. Thus an architectural plan is needed for Kebun Raya Wolobobo and accompanied by Detail Engineering Design (DED) at each planning point.

CONCEPT DESIGN Building Mass (massing): The design of building mass in Kebun Raya Wolobobo will adjust the geographical condi on of the site, which is a low-rise building that is responsive to the contours and slope of the area. The building in Kebun Raya Wolobobo was designed with a rela vely low mass and intensity of buildings, to maintain the main func on of the area as a botanical garden. Tropical Architecture: Applica on of tropical architecture is done by u lizing natural ligh ng and air. The arrangement of window openings and terraces is adjusted to allow condi ons in the room to get adequate ligh ng and good air circula on. Natural ven la on will be intended for all buildings in Kebun Raya Wolobobo except in certain rooms that require humidity condi ons and temperature regula on for the technical opera onal needs of the botanical garden.
