Para/Site Art Space is honoured to announce its participation in Tate Modern’s No Soul For Sale festival. For the first time a group of artists from Hong Kong will present their art works in a project by Tate Modern. Hong Kong’s participation includes Lam Tung Pang, Lee Kit, Leung Chi Wo, Cédric Maridet and Morgan Wong Wing-fat. ‘This project is a great push for the visibility of the Hong Kong art scene, and the result of Para/Site Art Space increasing international network,’ said Para/Site’s Alvaro Rodriguez Fominaya. The project under the title of Silent Impact reflects a paradox that is exemplified in Chinese by the words ‘Harmony’ and ‘Deep-Rooted Conflict’. Through these concepts, art is positioned to explore various issues in our society, from city to environment and from history to language. These two notions interact in a way that creates new cultural, political and social meanings. These multiple densities and strategies are expressed through the architectural structure that hosts the exhibits. Made of plywood and Plexiglas, it is a display device that accommodates the conceptual and material needs of the exhibited projects. Lam Tung Pang, Lee Kit and Morgan Wong Wing-fat present performance and installation based works, whilst Cédric Maridet and Leung Chi Wo showcase sound
