Sahiti Region Conference was held on March 13, 2011 at Armoor. Lion Raghuram Reddy, Region Chairperson presided over the meeting. It was hosted by Lions Club of Armoor Navnathapuram.

Swarna Region Conference "Swarna Samaroh" was held on March 20, 2011 at Narsapur. Region Chairperson Lion M Raghavendra Rao presided over the meeting. Squadron Leader Jayasimha, eight time Guiness World Record holder was the Chief Guest and Hon'ble Minister, Government of AP Lion Sunita Laxma Reddy was the Guest of Honor. Lions Club of Narsapur Snehabandhu hosted the Conference.

Shubham Region Conference was held on March 30, 2011 at Medak. International Director Lion VV Krishna Reddy was the Chief Guest. Region Chairperson Lion Dr P Surender presided over the meeting. It was hosted by his home club Lions Club of Medak Manjeera.

School Adoption

Most clubs have completed their respective school adoption permanent projects at the identified and adopted Government Schools. The following clubs have claimed and have been paid the reimbursement amount from the District. The other clubs are requested to submit the region chairperson visitation reports immediately and claim the reimbursement.

Correction in Convention Committees

The home clubs of Lion Goverdhandas Partani in Photography and Videography Committee was printed as Hyderabad East.

Please correct it and read it as Hyderabad South. The error is regretted.

International Dues

MONEY MATTERS

Demand drafts toward international dues should be drawn in favor of “Lions Clubs International” and be sent only to the district office. Please do not send them to Mumbai as there will be difficulty in reconciling payments in the last minute before the district convention. Photocopies of demand drafts cannot be accepted to authenticate payment.

Voting delegate credentials will be issued only to clubs that clear entire outstanding district and international dues. Clubs have to collect No Dues Certificate from the District Cabinet Treasurer and the same has to be produced before the Credentials Committee to obtain voting delegate credentials.

A list of the outstanding district and international dues is available with the district office and with most region and zone chairpersons. Clubs may please contact either the district office or their region chairperson for any clarification.

New Member Dues

District dues for new members joining any lions club in the district from March 1, 2011 onwards have been completely waived.

International dues for new members reported during April 2011 will be charged at US $ 34.88 (admission US $25 and per capita dues for the current lionistic year US $9.88). Family members reported during April will be charged at US $4.94 for the current year.

Melvin Jones Fellowships

Incentives of Rs 5,000 from our District Governor Lion Dr G Babu Rao and another Rs 5,000/- from the district are available to a few more lions on a first-come-first-served basis.

Dollar Exchange Rate

Dollar rate of exchange for the month of April 2011 has been fixed at Rs. 45.48 to US $1.00. Please calculate your international payments and contributions to LCIF accordingly.

Directory Advertisement Charges

A few payments relating to advertisement charges in the District Directory are still due. Please make the payments without any further delay.

Mahila Utsav

Mahila Utsav was celebrated in a grand way. Lion Gampa Sudha, District Chairperson for Mahila Utsav, presided over the meeting and Smt Daggubati Purandeswari, Hon'ble Minister for Human Resource Development, Government of India was the Chief Guest. Lion Dr G Babu Rao, Lion P Basaveswara Rao Multiple Co-ordinator 324C, Lion Gampa Ramesh, Immediate Past District Governor, Lion K Penta Reddy, Second Vice District Governor were the guests of honour. Ten eminent women from different walks of life were honored. Lion A Jyothi was the coordinator of the programme. Some games and competitions were conducted by Lion Kalpana Dhoot and other members of Hyderabad Cosmo Lions Clubs for women on the occasion.

Chief Guest Ms Purandeswari gave an inspiring message on issues relating to women and national development. The eminent women who were honored on the occasion included: 1.

PDG Honouring

Multiple Council Meeting

All AP PDG Honoring was organized on 27th February 2011 at Hotel Sri Krishna Grand, Miyapur, Hyderabad. Our District Governor Lion Dr G Babu Rao took great initiative in organizing programme. He travelled all over Andhra Pradesh and invited every one of the PDGs in person. A good number 119 PDGs, DGs and VDG attended the programme and were honored befittingly. Past International President Lion Ashok Mehta , the Chief Guest of the evening, advised the past district governors to play a constructive and advisory role in building strong district administrations.

The Fourth Cabinet Meeting of our District will be held at 11 am on Saturday, 9th April 2011 at Hotel Srikrishna Grand, Miyapur, Hyderabad.

District Convention

Fifth Annual District Convention of our District will be held on 9th & 10th April 2011 at Naren Gardens, Miyapur, Hyderabad.

Sri Sirivennela Sathalame Shastri, eminent film lyricist will be the Chief Guest. " Registrations are open for District Convention " Lion Rs. 400/-; Couple Rs. 600/-; Patron Rs. 10,000/For details and to register, please contact DCS / DCT / RC. " Every registration received by 5th April will receive a free memento. " Only registered delegates will be allowed to participate in the proceedings at the District Convention. " The Conference Chairperson is Lion Meka Nageshwar Rao of Hyderabad Manjeera. Conference Secretary Lion P Badrinath of Hyderabad Sanathnagar and Conference Treasurer Lion A Amarnath Rao of Siddipet.

Growth Incentive of Rs.10,000/-

Clubs reporting at least 15 new members to the International between 9th March & 8th April 2011 will receive a very special incentive of Rs.10,000/- from the District.

District Governor Honoring

March is DG Honoring month as per the Lions Calendar. A group of 47 admirers of Dr G Babu Rao joined hands and a massive function was organized on March 27th at 6 pm at Chandrareddy Gardens, Kompally to honor our beloved DG Lion Dr G Babu Rao in appreciation of the extraordinary services he has rendered this year to the Association and to the community. Almost all the PDGs of our District attended the function and honored our District Governor. The Programme included a welcome with purnakumbham, presentation of clothes and gifts to the Governor and the First Lady of the district.

After the sponsors of the program honored the governor, the other invited clubs also honored the couple at this impressive function. Responding to the honor, the district governor thanked every lion in the district for the support and cooperation extended to him during the year.

PR Grant - Highway Signboards

Region Conference

Seva Region Conference was held on February 6, 2011 at Bodhan. Region Chairperson Lion P V Subba Rao presided over the meeting. Past District Governor Lion Pokala Chander was the Chief Guest. It was hosted by Lions Club of Varni.

Sanskar Region Conference was held on February 13, 2011 at FAPCCI Building, Hyderabad. Lion V Sudhakar, Region Chairperson presided over the meeting. Sri Tanikella Bharni, eminent film actor was the Chief Guest. Lions Club of Hyderabad Sanathnagar hosted the Conference.
