Introduction to Video Editing (9-13 Yrs)-NEW
This workshop teaches the basics of video editing, with a handson focus using iMovie and/or Windows Movie Maker. It’s designed to teach students the fundamental skills so they may learn to independently explore and enjoy the art of movie editing. Students will also learn about various other editing programs. Although prior film-making experience or coursework is not required for this workshop, students enrolled should have a strong interest in video editing. Prior enrollment in Rare Learning’s Film Making Camp is encouraged, but not required. Students must bring a laptop to class.

Bharatanatyam Dance (6-11 Yrs)
Bharatanatyam, the most widely practiced form of Indian Classical dances in the world, is considered to be over 2000 years old from South India. A Bharatanatyam dancer narrates, evokes, and creates dramatic images through her eyes, body, and gestures. In this elementary course, children with no dance training will be introduced to the rudimentary movements of Bharatanatyam. Proficiency in the art is attained only after several years of intensive training. Students will need to bring a notebook and writing utensil to each class. Facemasks are recommended.

Introduction to Screen Writing (9-13 Yrs)-NEW
This class will cover the differences between writing scripts for the stage and for film. We will focus on reading, critiquing, and formatting of scripts. Students will be reading examples of scripts aloud, as well as viewing the final product. Your final project will be a short piece, which you will receive guidance through the revision process. By the end of the class you should have a camera ready script. Prior enrollment in Rare Learning’s Film Making Camp is encouraged, but not required. Facemasks are recommended.

Learn all you need to know to supervise children and infants safely and responsibly! Bharathanatyam is one of the most ancient and most popular of the Indian classical dance forms. It involves aspects of pure dance and expressive dance using intricate foot patterns, hand gestures and facial expression. In this program, students will be introduced to this beautiful dance form with focus on basic foundational footwork and hand gestures, movement and rhythm.
