Plano Piranhas is a youth recreational swim team dedicated to providing swimmers with a “taste” of competitive swimming. The Piranhas practice Monday-Friday for seven weeks and participate in the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation’s (TAAF) swim meets offered across North Texas throughout the summer season. Swimmers who qualify for the State competition have the option to compete in TAAF’s Summer Games of Texas in Brownsville from July 27July 30, 2023. Separate practices will be offered and additional fees will apply for swimmers who attend the State competition. The registration fee for the summer includes a team T-shirt and all swim meet registration fees for up to three events per swim meet. After confirmed enrollment on the team, swimmers must register themselves with TAAF to be eligible to participate in swim meets. Further details on TAAF registration will be sent out after enrollment. Competing in swim meets is not required but encouraged. Any swimmers who will be competing in swim meets must create a free account on planopiranhas.swimtopia.com in order to sign up for events at meets. Please visit our web site to see team apparel, practice schedules, and more. ALL swimmers must participate in a tryout for the Summer 2023 swim season before registering for practices. Coaching staff has the right to make the decision of whether or not a swimmer needs additional training before joining Piranhas. We also reserve the right to require swimmers to change practices during the season depending on their abilities/skills, we also may need to remove participants from a practice if they do not match the requirements for the class. We want all swimmers to be safe and in appropriate skill levels to ensure the best participant experience for everyone.
