REPCO LAUNCHES THE NEW WHEEL BALANCER WHEEL CLAMPING SYSTEM, SPEEDPLATE EBA PRO

The new Speedplate EBA offers accurate wheel attachment for the lifetime of a wheel balancer using studs aligned by planetary gears, instead of the usual tapered cones which can suffer wear, or imprecise mounting, leading to inaccurate readings.
The speed plates are made in the USA from ultra-strong, aircraft-grade aluminium plate, and they have been designed specifically for high volume, lifetime use.
What’s more, each of the durable, planetary gear-mounted studs is designed to detach from the main plate if dropped, which reduces the potential for internal product damage. A simple visual alignment check allows the gear to reattach in seconds.
There are three lug plates for four, five, and sixstud wheels. Mount the right plate and to adjust for different bolt spacing simply rotate one gear and the other gears will follow along. The configuration will automatically lock into place via the wave spring.
Quick change ‘torque tips’, which match the shape of the wheel nut for an accurate fit on the wheel, provide wide compatibility with a large range of rim types.
The E400-400-50 Kit includes the four-lug speed plate, which is also suitable for eight-lug rims, the five-lug speed plate, the 6-lug speed plate, and B, C, and E pattern torque tips, an extended version of pattern C (six of each), and a wall mount storage board.

CENTURY’S YU-FIT CONFIGURATOR GIVES VEHICLES A HEADS-UP THAT A NEW BATTERY HAS BEEN INSTALLED THAT NEEDS A DIFFERENT CHARGING REGIME
Matching new battery characteristics with the complex demands of modern computer controlled electrical systems calls for a system dialogue. It is no longer good enough just to install a new battery in a vehicle and send it on its way.
Even if the battery is the right basic construction and capacity, a modern car’s electrical system may not recognise or adapt to the new battery’s different characteristics.
Luckily, the configuration of these vehicle energy management systems can now be carried out simply and easily using the Century Yu-Fit battery configurator tool.
This configuration is required because a brandnew replacement battery requires a very different charging strategy compared to the battery which has reached the end of its serviceable life. Applying the old charging strategy to a new battery could result in a loss of Stop Start system functionality, loss of vehicle system functionality, plus increased fuel usage and C02 emissions.
The Yu-Fit tool can be used to configure the replacement battery to the vehicle’s active energy management system — informing the vehicle that a new battery of the correct type and performance has been installed. It will also inform the charging system of the new battery characteristics and ensure the correct charging strategy is applied right from the start.
Configuring a vehicle with the Yu-Fit tool following battery replacement will ensure the vehicle’s charging, energy management, and system functionalities will perform as intended, and ensure that your customer will receive the best possible performance from their battery purchase.
The Century Yu-Fit tool comes pre-loaded with profiles for all common vehicle manufacturer makes and models, and receives regular updates to help keep pace with the latest changes to the New Zealand new car market. It is accessed by simply connecting the tool to your PC.
