Farmer Autovillage offers a one stop shop for total vehicle care service. It includes servicing, wheels, tyres, windscreen repairs and replacements, genuine parts, a brand new paint and alloy wheel repair centre, as well as a dedicated trade parts centre.

The family-run business was founded 30 years ago in 1991 as Bay Nissan. With a team of 12, the dealership on the corner of Elizabeth St and Cameron Rd won Nissan Dealer of the Year seven years in a row. The business soon expanded with the inclusion of other brands. Its success was attributed to innovations such as pioneering weekend opening as well as its customer service.

The current Farmer Autovillage, the first of its kind in New Zealand, began in October 2008 on Hewletts Road at Mount Maunganui’s busiest intersection. The buildings include eight showrooms, state of the art workshops, a business lounge, café, and carwash. Onsite business managers can help with competitive finance and insurance options on new and used vehicles.

Farmer Autovillage has claimed a raft of industry awards over the years. This year, Farmer Autovillage won coveted dealership of the year awards for Audi, Jeep, Volkswagen Commercial, Volkswagen Passenger and Volkswagen overall, alongside several individual awards.

Group managing director Mike Farmer and group parts manager Mark Ferguson identified the need to support the growing trade network in New Zealand and set up a dedicated trade parts team solely focused on trade customers. The Farmer Trade Centre team initially started with three team members and has quickly grown to seven full time sales specialists and nine warehouse staff across three warehouses.

Farmer Trade Centre manager Mitchell Roberston says genuine is the best way to go when servicing or repairing customers’ vehicles; parts that are built to the manufacturer’s specifications and designed to fit right, the first time. The Farmer Trade Centre provides genuine parts for 17 international marques: Nissan, Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda, Subaru, Seat, Cupra, Jeep, Ram, MG, Haval, GWM, Rollerteam, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Dodge, and Chrysler. In 2021, Farmer Trade Centre opened a 2000 square metre warehousing and distribution centre to accommodate an even larger range of spare parts. The trade centre stocks an extensive range of service items, replacement parts, fluids, electrical items, windscreens, panels and can rapidly procure any unstocked parts.

Mitchell says the team is always looking for innovative solutions to support the network and has teamed up with the Blackfern automotive cooperative so now trade customers nationwide can access their service. Call the Farmer Trade Centre team on 0800 20 30 10 to order for nationwide delivery. Any purchases in October from Farmer Trade Centre puts Blackfern members into the draw for 10,000 reward points.
