PARTICIPATORY CITY
Maker Residence Programme www.everyoneswarehouse.co
ABOUT EVERY ONE EVERY DAY Everyone’s Warehouse is part of Every One Every Day - an initiative run by Participatory City Foundation, aiming to build the first large scale, fully inclusive, practical participation ecosystem in London’s borough of Barking and Dagenham. This 7 million pounds funded initiative is the first of its kind and builds 1000s of opportunities for local residents to learn, make, repair and connect to create thriving, resilient and greener neighbourhoods.
The Every One Every Day initiative is grounded in ten years of deep engagement with those at the forefront of developing ‘participation culture’ around the world. The design has been built on research aimed at developing an approach that is able to foster more of these new types of inclusive participation projects. Especially in the current context of climate change and a global pandemic, this approach is a key building block for shifting deep-rooted perceptions of the area, by co-creating sustainable urban neighbourhoods for the future, with our own two hands.
Every One Every Day recognises that by bringing space, equipment and people together, it creates thousands of opportunities for people to shape their lives through practical hands-on activities, developing skills and for some, forming fledgling co-operatives that center around making essential planet-positive products and services.
As part of the pathways for people to develop deeper making skills, Every One Every Day runs several learning and business programmes every quarter, designing in the full experience
LEARNING & BUSINESS PROGRAMMES
of learning making and production skills, operating workshops, teamworking, as well as designing, marketing, packaging, all the way through to test-trading and running pop-up shops.

Everyone’s Warehouse is much more than a making workspace. Unlike other membership-based makerspaces, Everyone’s Warehouse is free to use for people who live in Barking and Dagenham. It is a hybrid space which offers technical teaching and inductions for local people who may have little-to-no making skills, whilst also providing a workspace for established makers/ artists to operate their work/businesses from, bringing together the professional and the beginner under one (very large) roof!
