SPRING PROGRAMME 2022 15 MARCH - 14 APRIL

C

SO MUCH HAS CHANGED IN THE PAST 2 YEARS… BUT NOT EVERYTHING. This amazing Borough still buzzes with energy, optimism, creativity and ingenuity. And more than ever, people need to connect with one another to learn, share and make things together.

SH

A RE

Over 1350 people created the Every One Every Day Autumn programme last year where they began to build big plans and big ambitions for a greener, healthier and better connected Barking and Dagenham. This Spring we want to turn all this energy into the capacity to do extraordinary things this year and beyond through practical participation. Read on for loads of amazing opportunities for you to learn, design, share and connect this Spring, all for free and all right on your doorstep!

SPRING INTO ACTION SOMETHING AMAZING IS HAPPENING THIS SPRING!

This Borough, like so many others, has been deeply shaken by Covid. But despite 18 months of pandemics, one-way systems, masks, (and all the rest), over 1350 people in the Borough joined their neighbours in activities, sessions and projects as part of the Every One Every Day Autumn programme. There were even Street Parties hosted by residents! There’s loads of ideas, creativity and enthusiasm right across the Borough and a huge appetite amongst everyone to get involved and build the things which matter…together! Now, more than ever, we all need opportunities, support and resources to turn brilliant ideas, like the ones which emerged during the Autumn programme last year, into projects which can make a difference to the neighbourhoods across Barking & Dagenham.

That’s why this programme is slightly different from others you may have been involved with at Every One Every Day. The Spring programme will be focussing on rebuilding the skills, knowledge and connections everyone needs to create amazing peer-to-peer participation projects. In this programme you’ll find loads of invitations to have your say on the Every One Every Day shops and build towards a big, exciting Summer together. Let’s use all this energy, capacity and knowledge to make some truly extraordinary things happen in Barking & Dagenham this year - this means people, projects and collaborative businesses pulling together to create, connect, build, and put Covid firmly where it belongs; disappearing rapidly in the rear view mirror!

connect We all need strong connections to our neighbours and our places. And screens just don’t cut it! We need to be in the room with one another, feeding off one another’s energy, skills & optimism. This is what practical participation is all about! The Spring programme is packed with connection opportunities, from yoga to wild walks to growing a business!

food This borough is packed with amazing cooks, and with the food markets coming to town soon, we need to get ready for some big opportunities in food! This Spring let’s get going by learning how to grow food together, sharing recipes and cooking techniques, or get started on building a collaborative food business with your neighbours!

make

nature

Making has always been a part of this borough. Where ever you look there is rich history about practical making! This Spring, let’s tap into this, by learning and sharing what we know about raw materials like wood, textiles, clay and plastic. Making is for everyone, whether you are a professional maker, seasoned crafter or just curious to learn something new.

A deep connection with the nature around us is so important, today more than ever. And the green spaces we share are brilliant places for, connection and practical making! Let’s explore the greenest Borough in London and rediscover the natural world on our doorstep.
