School Interior Drawing Medium: -Watercolors (background color) -Graphite Pencil -Ebony Pencil -China Markers Completed in and outside of class 15 x 20 illustration board This was an assignment was given to me by my art teacher. We were to go to a spot in the school and draw an interior drawing on top of a piece of illustration board we painted with water colors. We had a few class periods to work on it but I went back after school to put some more work into it

Bread Still Life Medium: -oil paints -illustration markers (rough sketch) Completed in and outside of class 11 x 14 canvas For my oil painting class I decided to paint a still life of bread on a cutting board. I did a rough sketch off of the bread at home and then brought that into class to base my painting off of.

Self Portrait Medium: -Watercolors Completed outside of class 11 x 14 watercolor paper I wanted to try a self portrait with watercolors. Instead of using skin tone colors, I wanted to use more bold and evocative colors. This was also a very experimental project with watercolors for me since it was a medium I did not use much of beforehand.

Panera Interior Drawing Medium: -Graphite Pencil -Ebony Pencil -China Markers Completed outside of class 9 x 12 sketchbook page I was at my local Panera Bread restaurant waiting for friends before a study group and I decided to take out my sketchbook and work on an interior sketch of the a corner of the dining area. I worked on it for about 15 minutes before my friends arrived and left it how it was.

Sarah Medium: -Graphite Pencil -Red chalk pencil Completed outside of class 9 x 12 sketchbook page This is a drawing of a friend who posed while I drew a rough sketch of her face, shoulders, and hair. Later at home I put more work into it and worked it to a final product. I left out her mouth because she is shy and I felt the lack of the mouth and the pose made it more evocative. I gave her a red shirt in the drawing because her favorite color is red and I wanted to experiment with a red chalk pencil

Patterns Medium: -Sharpie Markers -Ebony Pencil -Colored pencils Completed inside of class 8.5 x 11 illustration board We were assigned a project where we had to make a zentangle. Instead of just making a standard pattern, I decided to try to form it into a human face to make it boldly different than others. I also used a variety of chaotic patterns throughout to show how different yet beautiful the human form is.

Hand Studies Medium: -Graphite Pencil Completed outside of class 9 x 12 sketchbook pages These are quick sketches I have made of hands in different positions . Most are drawing of my hands that I sketched out while looking at them while others are hands of a friend willing to model for a couple of minutes. Most are not worked to a final product but one of my hand drawings became the drawing of the arm which I drew the muscles of the arm on from what I knew from being an athlete and taking biology and health.

Jeffery Medium: -Graphite Pencil (erased) -Illustration Markers Completed outside of class 9 x 12 sketchbook page While hanging out with my friend Jeff, He posed while I drew a rough sketch of his face and shoulders. Later one I wanted to work it into a final product but I wanted to try something different. I tried to display the value in sections of lines with varying distances between them to represent the value.

Tea and Paint Medium: -illustration markers Completed outside of class 9 x 12 sketchbook page This is a still life I made one afternoon after painting. I had a mug of tea and my paint water on the wood floor I was working on. I made a sketch with illustration markers. Making the texture on the floor was fun.

Figure Study Medium: -Graphite Pencil Completed outside of class 9 x 12 sketchbook pages These are rough figure drawing sketch I made on my own in my sketchbook. These are not drawn from a model. These mostly come from my own imagination and show inspiration from a comic-book-superhero style drawings.

Eyes Medium: -Charcoal -Charcoal Pencil -White Charcoal Pencil Completed in of class 4 x 8 In art class we got a self portrait assignment except we were only focusing on you eyes. Self Portrait Medium: -pencil (erased) -Illustration markers Completed outside of class 9 x 12 sketchbook page I did another self portrait of myself. I started with a rough sketch of my facial features and then to work it into a final piece I decided to do the value solidly which gave a lot of contrast which I liked when it was finished.

While in the area, we went to Disneyland one of the days we were there. I took this picture of the Ferris wheel in Disneyland because it has the iconic Mickey Mouse face which evokes joy and nostalgia of childhood.

Eagle Scout Project Medium: -Wood/lumber -Vines Completed outside of class 8’-0” x 8’-0” x 3’-0” For my Eagle Scout project I designed the bench in the pictures to the left at my local church. I led a group of my fellow boy scouts to stain, cut, and then assemble all the pieces of the bench and the fence against the wall in the background of these pictures. We then did landscaping around the area and planted the vines that have now grown around the overhang.
