TYSON GRUMM 2017 "A Common Thread"

T Y SO N G R U M M A COMMON TH REA D

T YSO N G RUMM A C OM M ON T HR EA D “A Common Thread” is a new collection of 30 works where elements from one painting cross over to the next in a continuum. Through the trail of visual fingerprints from the previous painting, the viewer is able to document the ever-growing energy and intent of the artist in creating this body of work, and while viewed collectively, “a common thread” winds its way from beginning to end, documenting the journey of the entire exhibition. The surreal works present an atypical cast of characters in fantastical settings or landscapes.

An unconventional artist, Grumm is especially known for his uncommon sense of humor, both childish and sophisticated, using puns alongside surrealism to create jokes that seem to come from an alternate universe. A proficient painter, he easily renders wide landscapes, seascapes, and industrial buildings alongside his absurd characters.

Tyson Grumm has exhibited widely throughout the USA and internationally in London, and his works can be found in many private and public collections in Europe and the USA.
