ymĂŠtrie Studio Spa opened its doors to Lafayette in August and in doing so provided Acadiana with its first professional studio dedicated to offering permanent cosmetics solutions to the community on such a large scale. SymĂŠtrie employs six Certified Micropigmentation Professionals, one Certified Lash Extensionist, and one Licensed Esthetician who all have one goal in mind to use their artistic talents and expertise in cosmetic tattooing to offer precisely the beauty enhancement they have in mind. Owner Kylie Neuville is a local small town girl raised around the beauty industry who has discovered her true passion and looks forward to sharing it with as many individuals as possible. Hear it for yourself in her own words: Describe what your company does: We are a permanent cosmetics studio. We enhance your beauty with our artistic talents which consist of eyebrow, eyeliner and lip cosmetic tattooing. How did you decide on this industry (events that led up to where you are now, where you went to school, etc.)? My mother was a hair stylist for 17 years. I grew up playing in her hair salon, getting my hair tangled up in round brushes, haha. I was always the one who had my makeup and hair done really well throughout high school and I was stuck doing my friends' hair and makeup before we'd go places on the weekends. After a failed attempt at becoming a graphic designer (I could not sit down behind a computer all day), I knew that the hair/beauty industry was where I was meant to be. Why did you start your business? After my first permanent cosmetics training, I realized how huge this industry was outside of Lafayette (and possibly Louisiana). I would always hear about eyeliner or eyebrow tattooing, but never really a business where it was done. What is unique about your business (what sets you apart from the rest)? We are the first studio here in Lafayette, meaning we have six permanent cosmetic artists/chairs in one place. Given your business expertise and the nature of what you do, what advice (whether general or specific) can you offer to the residents? Eyebrow and eyeliner tattooing have come such a long way. People normally get a picture in their heads of eyebrows that are blueish, gray in color and look like they have been drawn on with a sharp-

ie. This is NOT the case anymore. For eyebrows, we make individual hair strokes that are very fine and realistic looking. We build your eyebrows with many strokes. We do not use tattoo ink - which is why many of these older tattoos are blue in color. We use pigments that are specifically formulated for the face and are FDA approved. Where did you grow up? How long have you lived in the area? Tell us about your family. I grew up in the village of Loreauville, LA which has under 1000 residents. I moved to Lafayette when I was 18. I love this city! It's not too large and there is quietness tucked away in many areas. My family is amazing. They are some of the nicest, down to earth people you will ever meet. I'm glad I grew up where I did because there's something to be said about the hearts of people raised in a small town. It's a huge part of who I am. What else we should know about you, your family, or your business? We strive to make everyone happy. Every person that comes through the door matters to us. We will do our best to make you feel comfortable with your procedures. I promise you won't regret coming to see us! So even if you’re just curious, check them out online at symetriestudiospa.com or even better stop by Symétrie in person at 4041 Ambassador Caffery and let her team show you what they do…and be sure to thank them for their generous sponsorship of Copper Meadows Living.
