A#group#of#40#teachers#and# students#visited#Kyushu#in# mid>#July#for#our#Airst#overseas# Aield#trip#to#Japan.##It#is#a#new# and#developing#tourist# destination#and#has#started#to# attract#a#lot#of#travellers#by#its# landscape,#scenic#spots#as#well# as#its#primitive#feelings.#In# recent#years,#the#number#of# tourists#keeps#increasing,#but# it#still#fails#to#become#a#top# tourist#destination#in#the#eyes# of#Hong#Kong#people.##What# are#the#factors#that#hinder#its# tourist#development? ##I#think#one#of#the#main# reasons#is#that#the#famous# scenic#spots#are#too#dispersed# in#distribution.###The#tourists# usually#spend#time#on# transport#more#than#visiting# the#spots.#For#example,#when# we#left#Fukuoka#for#Nagasaki,# the#normal#travel#time#was#2# hours#for150#km.# Unfortunately,#Kyushu#got# heavy#downpours#and#Alooding# occurred.##The#expressways# were#blocked#and#all#vehicles# were#stuck#in#heavy#trafAic# jams.#Without#using#the# expressway,#we#used#almost#8# hours#to#arrive#in#Nagasaki.# Second,##most#of#the#tourist# attractions#in#Kyushu#are#small# in#scale#and#less#attractive.## Geographically#speaking,#some# tourist#attractions#are#too# remote#and#far#away#from# large#cities.##The#infrastructure# is#not#yet#well>developed. If#Kyushu#wants#to#develop#as# a#major#tourist#destination,#it# must#Airst#improve#its#
transportation#and#tourist# infrastructure.##Moreover,#the# Japanese#government#must# spend#more#money#on# promotion.##Issuing#travel# passes#is#a#good#idea#to#attract# tourists#and#they#can#save# much#money#on#travel.##

By#looking#at#its# accommodation,#I#will#say# ‘YES’. Accommodation#means#to# provide#shelter,#food#and# beverage#to#people#who#for# whatever#reason#are#away# from#home. Generally,#Kyushu#has# different#types#of# accommodation#which#can# attract#or#kind#of#providing# good#services#to#inbound#or# outbound#tourists.#Actually,# there#are#quite#a#large#number# of#accommodations#in#Kyushu.# They#have#large#variety#on#its# function#and#market#segment.#

To#conclude,#there#are#large# varieties#of#accommodation#in# ••• Kyushu.#These#can#facilitate# For#Day#3,#we#stayed#in#Aso# Kyushu’s#tourism# Farmland,#probably#it#is#the# development.#For#example,#the# most#special#one#among#the# three.#It#is#located#in#rural#area# Japanese#make#use#of#their# natural#advantage#to#build#hot# and#near#Mount#Aso.#It#is#a# spring#hotel.#It#can#be#physical# resort#hotel.#There#are#330# and#leisure#attraction#for# rooms.#The#rooms#are#all# independent#and#large#in#size.# tourists.#So,#Kyushu#have#its# potential#to#be#the#top#tourist# They#are#rounded>dome#in# destination. ! shape#like#yurts.#There#is#a# dormer#in#each#room.#As#the# accommodation#area#is#very# big,#so#there#is#free#shuttle#bus# service.#There#are#more# facilities#than#the#two.#There# are#hot#spring#area,#gym,# massage,#spa,#sauna,#pleasure# ground,#etc.#The#hot#spring# area#is#divided#into#male#part# and#female#part.#Also,#there#is# indoor#and#outdoor#hot# springs.#As#the#hotel#is#located# ! Hot$spring$hotel$in$Unzen As we are Hong Kong people, we are able to speak three kinds of languages, Cantonese, English and Mandarin. However, we still got language barrier when we were having our field trip in Kyushu. “It was extremely difficult to communicate with the Japanese or even the staff in hotels or shops!� One of my friends claimed that. Truly, most of us had difficulties in communicating with the local people and only few of us know Japanese. English is less popular in Kyushu because most of them do not know English or just able to have basic conversation. Here are some reasons why we had a language barrier in Japan. The first consideration is the education in Japan. All of us have been learning English since we were in kindergarten.
However, people in Japan study English only when they are in secondary school. They are not very familiar with their English. Second, Japanese are very proud of their mother language, their country. It is the traditional culture in Japan. Most of the adults were taught that Japanese is the best language in the world. They overlook English and they think it is not very important for their career. Therefore,
Japanese have a poor English level when comparing with other international countries. Because of the language barrier, tourists may consider other cities for spending their time. It will badly affect the tourism and the related business in Kyushu. Therefore, there are rooms of improvements for Kyushu to become a top tourist destination.

I#joined#this#Aield#trip#to#Kyushu#in#the#hope#of#widening#my#horizon.#I#have#visited#a#lot#of# places#in#Japan.#Also,#I#found#that#they#have#the#similar#characteristics.#Tourists#can#enjoy# one>stop#service!#For#instance,#when#we#visited#Nagasaki#Atomic#Bomb#Museum,#there#is#a# souvenir#shop#in#the#museum.#In#addition,#when#we#Ainished#visit#the#Mt.#Aso>san,# Takachiho#Gorge,#Manai>no>taki#Falls,#Kumamoto#Castle#and#Dazaifu#Tenmangu,#there#must# be#one#or#more#souvenir#shops#near#the#scenic#spots.#For#this#reason,#the#people#who#visited# the#places#all#have#the#one>stop#tourist#experience.# ##There#are#lots#of#advantages#for#one>stop#service.#This#can#save#our#time.#Lots#of#people# buy#souvenirs#for#their#friends#or#themselves.#But#sometimes,#the#souvenir#shops#are#too#far# away#and#so#they#do#not#want#to#go#to#a#far#place#and#only#for#buy#souvenirs.#But#the#one> stop#services#mean#that#there#are#souvenir#shops#which#are#near#the#places#we#visit.# Therefore,#we#can#save#our#time#and#do#more#meaningful#activities.#Second,#one>stop# services#can#improve#the#economic#development#of#Japan.#When#the#tourists#see#this# convenient#one>stop#services,#they#will#be#interested#in#shopping.#The#one>stop#services# may#also#increase#the#interest#of#people#to#visit#Kyushu.#In#this#way,#tourism#will#also# prosper. ##In#Hong#Kong,#there#are#lots#of#scenic#spots.#But#do#the#places#have#one>stop#services?#You# may#think#of#Hong#Kong#Disneyland,#but#do#we#have#any#other#places#also#have#one>stop# services?#Thus,#I#think#Hong#Kong#may#learn#from#Kyushu. ##The#facile#journey,#accommodation,#good#food#outlet#makes#Kyushu#have#a#better#one>stop# services.#Moreover,#this#also#makes#Kyushu’s#development#have#a#big#improvement.# Therefore,#I#think#Kyushu#have#the#potential#to#be#a#top#tourist#destination.

Through#this#trip,#I#think#Kyushu# have#the#potential#to#be#a#top# tourist#attraction#because#a#lot#of# Japanese#are#very#friendly.#Almost# all#of#the#salespersons#are#very# friendly#and#kind.#They#always# keep#smiling#on#their#faces.#While# we#are#asking#some#questions#or# paying#money#in#the#counter,#they# always#talk#politely#and#keep# their#friendly#smile#on#their#faces.# Also,#when#we#arrive#in#the# restaurants,#the#waiters#will#come# out,#shake#our#hands#and# welcome#us.##After#we#Ainish#our# meal,#they#always#say#goodbye#to# us.#These#show#that#Kyushu#has# well#welcoming#host#attitude#and# they#are#very#hospitable.#They#are# very#inclusive#too. In#this#trip,#almost#all#the# staff#working#in#the#scenic#spots# are#very#friendly.#They#always# smile.#Some#of#them#know#that#we# are#foreign#travellers,#so#they#try# their#best#to#speak#in#English.## These#show#that#the#people#in# Kyushu#have#the#effort#to#become# a#top#tourist#attraction.#These# also#show#that#the#Japanese#want# to#help#their#country#and#their# country’s#economy.##
Furthermore,#the# people#in#Nakasu#Yatai#are# very#friendly.#They#talk#to# us#friendly.#In#addition,#that# night#we#are#Ainding#the# route#to#the#convenience# store,#some#Japanese#saw# us#looked#loss,#so#they# went#up#to#us#and#ask#us#if# we#need#any#help.#These# represent#that#the#Japanese# are#very#helpful#and#care# for#the#others.
