• What was your first thought when you found out about receiving the scholarship? - I was very happy, because at first I thought I would have to work in order to be in the army. But now they are going to pay for it and also my school. I always tried very hard in school; to always get good grades and always be on top of my class, to get some kind of scholarship, nothing was coming thru, finally at the end all of my hard work paid off and I was able to get a full scholarship. • How do you feel about starting school in UTB this fall? - It’s pretty exciting just the fact that it’s more challenging. High school forced you into a habit of having to following a specific schedule, college is completely different; you can have your own schedule and your own routine, it all relies on you; I like having that freedom. • What degree are you going for? - Mathematics • How will you apply this degree in the army? - If I do get injured in the army and I would no longer be able to be a pilot then I can always teach as a backup plan.

• How does it feel to finally graduate from High School? - It feels good. Feels like I’m on the next step to something new in my life. I’m no longer a kid anymore, I can actually have my own stuff, I can take care of myself and be on my own. It’s a nice change. • How did you find out about the ROTC Scholarship? - I always knew it was there but I honestly never thought I would get it. I had previously applied for another scholarship for ROTC Air force and I had also tried the coast guard academy so I never really thought I would get the Army ROTC though the deadline was overdue, my mom and I were looking around for scholarships, and we noticed that I could still get the army ROTC scholarship. I got in contact with the captain at UTB Captain Bradshin. We met with her and she let us know that I could still apply for it, and basically went over

all the stuff I would get with the scholarship. Following this I ended up meeting the colonel of UTPA for an interview, Colonel Silva. He just basically asked me why I wanted to join. They let me know that the chances were slim to get the scholarship. Finally after a couple months I found out that I had received the four year scholarship. It was such great news to hear!
“if you don’t get what you want don’t let that get you down, there are plenty of opportunities out there for you.” • Where you nervous during the interview? - No not at all, I embraced the interview and showed a lot of confidence when I went into the interview.
• Why do you want to be a pilot for the army? - It’s always been something I’ve been interested in, ever since I’ve been a kid, I’ve always wanted to do something in the military, I also wanted to have an important feeling like I’m part of something or mean something. My brother was in the marines and luckily there was a medical helicopter that took him to a hospital and keep him alive, basically those pilots’ are very important to save the soldiers. I want to save people, and make sure that they get back to their families safe and sound. • What words of encouragement do you give students that are hesitant to apply for scholarships, thinking that they won’t get it? - All you can do is try. There is nothing stopping you or holding you back. Try your best for anything that you pursue. Don’t be scared to ask your family or friends for support and encouragement. • What quote do you live by? - “There is no security in this life only opportunity.” You can always try your best you can do what you want but there is no guarantee that it’s going to happen, but if you don’t get what you want don’t let that get you down, there are plenty of opportunities out there for you.

etting dressed is a whole lot easier when you know what pieces work best for your shape. Most women fall into one of four categories: circle (thick around the middle), triangle (larger at the bottom), hourglass (curvy but evenly proportioned), and rectangle (straight up and down). Once you’ve determined your body shape, you can begin to consider which fashion trends to embrace and which to avoid. Then put these fashion tips to work for you!
THE CIRCLE If you tend to gain weight around the middle (or you simply want to hide a few post-pregnancy pounds), clothes should fit loosely around the midsection. Slender legs, slight shoulders and a trim booty give your figure a graceful allure. You’ve got great legs, so show ’em off! A slim, straight leg or bootcut is perfect for you, and wearing a heel takes off a little weight and shows off your legs. Styles to avoid: Anything that draws attention to the middle-like high-rise pants, belts, and waist-cinching tops.
The Triangle The triangle shape is defined as shoulders and torso that are narrower than the hips. Shapely legs, a trim waist and head-turning hips give your body feminine appeal. A dark pair of wide-leg pants slims the thighs while creating a longer silhouette. Don’t be afraid to show a little skin, too. Three-quarter sleeves, wide scoop necks, and one-shoulder tops all look great. Styles to avoid: Shapeless, oversize sweaters; skinny jeans and pants; and skirts in a flimsy, curve-hugging fabric.
tHE HOURGLASS With an ample chest, a narrow waist, and full hips, this shape, although evenly proportioned, can seem as if it’s all angles. Your figure the crème de la crème of feminine beauty. Simplicity is key for you. Look for clean, simple tops with scoop necklines and three-quarter sleeves. Avoid layering, and look for waist belts that help define your tiny tummy. Try some high-waisted pants. They hit at the natural waistline, so it draws the eye to a thin middle.
Styles to avoid: Shapeless or boxy styles, like baby-doll dresses, tunics, and oversize cardigans.
The rectangle With little definition at the waist, this straight-up-and-down figure is slender and often athletic, your build is easy to outfit. Complement your natural lines with asymmetrical or rounded hemlines, and ruffle details. Halters look great on you, as do boatnecks and off-the-shoulder shirts. Since your body is naturally athletic, you’ll look more feminine in tank tops with a thin, delicate strap. The same goes for jackets and blazers: Look for soft shoulders and steer clear of boxy, cropped jackets. Opt for styles that fit snugly at your middle but flare out at the bottom (whether it’s a skirt or pants) to create curves. Styles to avoid: Dresses that are tight all over and anything too flowy or unstructured around the waist, like Empire-waist tops.

Perry and UT leaders made remarks about the signiďŹ cance of a sweeping initiative that will combine the resources and assets of UTB and UTPA to establish a new university and a new medical school in the Rio Grande Valley. She was born in Bogota, Colombia “The Land Of Zumba.” Deissy has run over 12 marathons, several triathlons and long distance bicycle tours. Among her hobbies are skydiving and traveling.
At Lamar he won 25 conference titles in cross country, indoor and outdoor track. In 1986 he transferred to Southeast Missouri State University where he won 12 conference titles and one National.
What makes you stand out from other Taekwondo academies? Most Taekwondo Academies have outstanding Instructors that dedicate countless hours to their students, Olympian Fitness Taekwondo Academy is different from other schools because we are part of the Olympian Fitness Gym of Port Isabel and our students are able to attend the group classes offered in addition to having full usage of all the equipment en the gym; our athletes can fully develop their skills in just one place. What are the most crucial things you have done for Olympian Fitness Gym and Taekwondo Academy? At the beginning of 2011 we opened the Taekwondo Academy in Olympian Fitness. It started with four kids, one adult and a very limited amount of equipment. Our first official tournament was on March 2012 in Los Fresnos with five students participating, since then we have grown to fifty plus students, several state champions and two national champions. All these achievements have been possible by the dedication of the students and the support of the parents and the community. There is still much work to be done to accomplish our ultimate goal of having our students be members of the national team to participate in international competitions and the Olympics. What has been your most effective marketing tactic or technique? The most effective marketing strategic has been word of mouth and social media. In order for this tactics to be effective you have to run a successful program that provides results. How important have good employees been to your business? Good employees are the key to running a successful business they have to follow the philosophy that we have set for our business. What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful man? Be a trendsetter, don’t be afraid of taking risks and never stop learning. Who has been your greatest inspiration? My parents without a shadow of a doubt. How do you find people to bring into your business that truly care about it the way you do? List all the characteristics you would like your new employee to embody. Do not limit yourself. You can find a good employee anywhere--for example, your favorite salesperson, a librarian, friends’ recommendations.

What are the most crucial things you have done for Mexico Europe Tours? The most crucial thing I have done…take the challenging adventure to create travel packages for the World Cup of Soccer in Germany; we were able to send 250 people. It really was a big challenge, although it was satisfying and exciting to create this kind of packages and see the amazing results. Demand for this package was high and to get the tickets for the stadium was not easy. However, we were able to overcome the difficulties and we ended up selling tickets to travel agencies and the public in general.
What has been your most effective marketing tactic or technique? The most effective marketing tactic for us has been publicity undoubtedly, have presence in local magazines on both sides of the border. How important have good employees been to your business? Good employees are a basic element of a business and its growth.

German researchers found that drinking 6 cups of cold water a day (that’s 48 ounces) can raise resting metabolism by about 50 calories daily—enough to shed 5 pounds in a year. The increase may come from the work it takes to heat the water to body temperature. A good rule: Try to get 2 quarts of fluids (8 ounces times eight) daily. Fruit, veggies and other liquids (e.g., coffee) count, too.
