DRESSED TO EXPLORE The silhouettes are simple and straightforward yet new and interesting. The clean cuts and lack of unnecessary extras have a definite Scandinavian and also somewhat Japanese feel of ease and laid-backness to them. The collection is designed with the children and their needs in mind: the emphasis is on the materials, practicality and feel of the garment. Active children need appropriate clothing that feels good and doesn’t limit movement. Therefore, all the pieces in this collection are easy: they are easy to wear and care. The collection relies on materials of the top most quality and techniques that guarantee the garment a long life. The garments are effortless for the children to put on by themselves and don’t restrict them from building tree houses or exploring caves. Dressed to explore -collection is meant to suit both girls and boys. To be unisex in both colour and shape. The rules that govern what boys and girls should or shouldn’t wear are outdated and since there is simply no reason to design different models or fits for small girls and boys, the clothing is based on situation and function rather than on gender. The primary aim of this collection is to offer children and parents freedom of choice and to loosen the constraints on what people shouldwear. Thus, the name of this collection ‘Dressed to explore’ doesn’t just refer to actual exploring and adventures but also the child’s cognitive, emotional and social growth.

THE CHILDREN This collection is intended for little girls and boys aged between 2 and 7 years who are inquisitive and eager to learn and have a vast imagination. They love making up stories, creating things and dream a lot. Everything seems to interest them: science, arts and crafts, technology, literature. They have a lot of questions. They are always trying to figure out how everything in the world works; pressing buttons, turning knobs, taking apart toys and pointing to pictures in books to find out what they are. This is the main reason why these clothes have tons of pockets – for discoveries and collected treasures. My target group are always on the go and fearless almost to the point of reckless. Climbing the tallest trees, tasting new foods, building things, doing science experiments, all those are so rewarding to them. They are running around the playground, darting toward anything that catches their eyes. Their fearlessness can also send them running headlong into unsafe situations and often make their parents anxious. These children are temperamental and sometimes extremely stubborn. They form their own strong opinions and are incredibly wilful and determined once they get their mind set on something. Although all the activeness and a rather harsh temper, these boys and girls are also very tender-hearted and have a wonderful amount of insight, sensitivity and empathy. They love making people laugh and strongly empathize with other children’s feelings.
POST RETRO The hugely popular 1970s trend is not yet over but its future looks softer and subtler, in a way less obvious. Retro vibes and ideas from the past are still present but with details that hint at the decade in a more sophisticated way. They are merged with chic lines and excellent tailoring for a tasteful look. Colours used in this collection take the viewer back in time: to the age of dusty retro. The colours in this collection take their cue from materials that have been processed, blended or oxidised. The palette moves away from previously very obvious brights and pastels towards more complex tones, somewhere in between the two. The lighter tones have a dusty near-pastel, smudged and grey-tinged quality, without being overly sweet or breezy. However, deeper and richer colours such as burgundy and blue-green bring a sense of luxury to the palette. Indeed, they balance and really bring the smudged mid-tones to life. Especially combined with lighter counterparts of blue smoke and chalky sand they create offbeat and unexpected colour combinations and imperfect mixes.
