Modern Military Inspired by the harshness of military operations, this is the silhouette for the confident woman. Seen on the runway were models strutting their stuff in khaki officers’ jackets, stand-up collared blouses and military hats decorated with gold medals which created outfits that reinterpreted the soldier’s uniform into looks we want to wear.
Tip: Camouflage print shirts and jackets, parkas, anything with bras buttons attached, wide waisted belts and stiff collars. To create a more feminine look opt for a figure hugging khaki dress as seen in Victoria Beckham’s fashion show. Do not forget the bold red lip! It is not the leather jacket that is stealing the spotlight (we’re all used to it by now!) but – the luxe leather accents: leather sleeves on parkas, leather trimmings on skirts… and the luxe fabric claiming slick trousers, vamp dresses and tops in all shapes and sizes.

The print and patterns trend for Autumn/Winter 2012 takes inspiration from bespoke men’s ties (think Chuck Bass and his Savile Row in Gossip Girl!). Give a trendy uplift to basic pieces such as shift dresses, tailored trousers and blouses – making them something to really talk about.

Future Fantastic
1
Tip: For those who are not risk-takers, incorporating accessories such as metallic shoes or a bag would do nicely, however for those who want to go all out – make sure to get a lovely pair of metallic skinnies or otherwise a boxy sweater with a space-age motif.
This is the season to look boldly towards the future – seen frequently on the Autumn/Winter runways were shimmering metallics, boxy shoulders, moulded shapes and alien-like features. Nothing beats escaping the humdrum of daily life by dressing like a space-age heroine! 5

Wonders of the East
1
This Autumn/Winter sees an interesting mix of flavours from the Orient. The extensive use of luxurious fabrics and attention to detail have always sparked interest in the fashionistas of the West. Dragon prints, lavish Eastern floral patterns, paisley, kimono shapes and mandarin collars are all the rage this season.

The Spiked Necklace
I love to add some fierceness to an outfit especially if it is overly feminine. Tucked under the collar of a blouse or a flowery dress.

uard Blazer I have fallen head -over-heels in love with suits this season. The cuts, the prin ts, the power it gives to the woman in a suit has totally gotten over me. I am plann ing to get this blazer wit h the matching trou sers to wear for the ev ening with pointed toe pumps and hair tied up for a totally different-than-us ual night time look.
Balenciaga have hit the nail straight on the head with their tough-girl-in-space-town look. This fabulous tee is inspired from the runway show and does not come cheap, however I have thought about so many outfit combinations that look absolutely fabulous with it – that it will be worth every penny spent. I just cannot wait.
The Little Black Dress
Oriental prints are huge for Autumn/Wint er however I seem to find them a bit overwhelming sometimes. Since I will be goin g to tackle this trend with su btlety, I will be hunting for this dress at Zara because I find it to be very alluring. T he cut and shape of the dres s is very minimal whilst the print is bang on trend wit hout being over-the-top. The lace panels on the sleeves ad d a touch of luxe to it. Just per fect.
The Faux Leather Jacket
Faux leather is a great option if you get bored easily of trends or find real leather kinda expensive. I think this jacket has just the right amount of spikes plus it is collarless – a detail that I adore in jackets. It will be a great companion to my little dresses on those chilly nights.
The Go-Anywhere Bag
The Flat Shoes
t And again it’s Balenciaga. When you inves e in a designer bag you have to be totally sur , you’re doing the right thing. I love classics especially if they come with a nice twist. I have always coveted Balenciaga on the arm e. of celebrities, socialites and bloggers alik The soft shape, rose-gold studs and the Bordeaux colour of this bag are exquisite. Enough said, you are totally mine.
Every start of a new season I traipse the stores frantically searching for the perfect pair of flat shoes to take me from day to night in a fashionable manner. This season, yet again, I have chosen another pair from ASOS. The flowery print contrasting with the metallic toe-cap has totally melted my heart.
The Trench-Coat
When you invest in a designer What is a rai ny day without a trench-coat? Not a fashionable day sur ely! This River Island trench-coat is my most wanted thi s season. The subtle army-inspired stiff collar and leathe r look sleeves are my favourite details. Thinking about we aring leather pants and chunky boots for an overall tou gh look – a slick of bold red lipstick will make things pretty interesting.

During the Fall collections of Tom Ford, Yves Saint Laurent, and Richard Chai, purple lipstick has struck out as the main trend. Purple lipstick is especially flattering for lightskinned brunettes. According to Pat McGrath, a leading British make-up artist, when combining make up and manicure, the polish should always be a tone darker than the lipstick. Among the celebs who have already tried a new lip trend there are: Leighton Meester, Beyonce, LeToya Luckett, Rihanna, Adriana Lima, Agyness Deyn, Rooney Mara, Ciara, Lea Michele, Kim Kardashian and many others‌
L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Mascara
Sweep a base colour across the eyelids, we love Estee Lauder duo eyeshadow in “Rasins” using the lighter colour across the entire lid and the darker tone just along the crease. Now for the liner, Clarins have just launched a new limited edition 3 dot liner, although it’s a liquid liner the tip is a felt with 3 dots allowing you to easily dot along the lash line. Tried and tested and I love it! Now finish off with your favourite mascara! You really want to give lashes a lengthening effect I love L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Mascara.

Estee Lauder duo eyeshadow
This is the key trend! The most important thing when using a bold colour on lips is preparation! Start by using a lip liner to define the lips natural line. Using a liner that is the closest match to your lipstick. I work using Estee Lauder Double Wear lip liners because they have a fantastic easy apply texture aswell and being ultra-long lasting.
Apply Lip Pencil along the bow of the upper lip and draw outwards in a gentle arcing motion starting at the centre of the lip. Arc out by pivoting the hand, rather than moving the pencil. Repeat on the other side. On the lower lip, draw a horizontal line in the centre of the lip. The Double Wear liners have a lipstick brush on the end, but you can use your own lip stick brush to get the same effect. Using your chosen colour (For bolder shades I love cream textured lipsticks), gently dab brush over lipstick and apply by starting at centre and working out toward lipline.

Nails
When using darker colours it is essential to use a good base coat. I love the “Mavala base 002”. After pushing the cuticles back gently, apply your base coat. Follow by your chosen purple, I love the Sally Hansen xtream wear polish range, apply the first and second coats of the chosen colour. To get the most of your manicure apply a good topcoat, I love Mavala’s “Colourfix”. Because life doesn’t stop apply a thin layer of Mavala’s “Mavadry”.
