A BROAD RANGE OF ANIONIC AND NONIONIC PRODUCTS Natural mineral and oil resources are the base line of various industries. In the processing of both energetic resource, metal ores and other raw materials there are different intermediate stages, in which surface active substances often play a key role. In the mining and drilling industry the surfactants are used as additives for enhanced oil recovery, drilling fluids, flotation, dust suppression and cementing boreholes. Such substances as scale and corrosion inhibitors, emulsifiers and emulsion breakers, antifoamers and polyelectrolytes, biocides and solvents. PCC Exol offers a variety of specialized products for miscellaneous applications. Their role is to ensure proper wetting, emulsification or demulsification, dispersing processes and foaming stability. The following table presents our products used during processing of an oil and the stage of their application. ANIONIC AND NONIONIC - PRODUCT LIST Product group

DEMULSIFIERS One of the main aim of oil production is to obtain low water and inorganic salts contents. Also during desalting phase, an appropriate amount of water should be added to the oil. Because crude oil contains natural emulsifiers, some amount of water is present as an W/O emulsion. The produced W/O emulsion increases the oil viscosity and makes it harder to transfer. This is the reason why efficient demulsifying agents are used during crude oil processing. Demulsifier is absorbed at the interface layer and decreases surface tension between oil and water which consequently breaks the W/O emulsion. Coalescence of water droplets and macro- separation of water and oil phase is observed. To easily estimate the demulsification properties of various chemical substances, the RSN index can be used. RSN shows the relative solubility of product in water. When the number increases the hydrophilic character of the product or blend also increases. The crude oil demulsifiers should typically have an RSN of 8 to 15. To optimize the separation, blends of demulsifiers can be applied. Because of various oil compositions and production conditions, each blend should be tested individually. DEMULSIFIERS - PRODUCT LIST

EXODEMUL O70 New demulsifying power for water-in-oil emulsions A blend of EO/PO-block polymer [Mw=2600] in non-aromatic solvent dedicated for the dehydration and desalting of crude oil emulsions, occurring during oil and gas production and phase separation processes. Exodemul O70 enables achieving optimal performance in separation of water from crude oil. Helps the coalescence and dropping of water. It provides sharp water/oil interface what helps to easily and precisely separate them. It mproves final product characteristics by lowering water content. Although the performance and activity of demulsifier was confirmed in laboratory conditions due to the specificity of the each field and thus the emulsion characteristics, it is advised to adjust operating parameters individually. Depending on solubilizer content, solids contamination, work temperature and other factors different concentration will be needed. That can be analyzed using such simple method as bottle test.

FOAMERS Mature wells usually do not have enough bottomhole pressure to remove fluid from their interior, and the fluid accumulates at the bottom. Without the employment of artificial lift techniques, the head pressure from accumulated liquid in the well reduces gas production more rapidly than the natural decline curve, and eventually production stops. One of the methods for Enhanced Oil Recovery is application of various chemicals, usually as diluted solutions. Usually gas wells are brine rich and can be successfully treated with conventional surfactant-based foamers. The injections are used to aid mobility through reduction of viscosity and the decrease in surface tension. In gas fields foamers have profitably increased production by unloading fluid and reducing hydrostatic pressure with little capital investment. Foamers are a relatively economical technology as no downhole equipment is necessary and the operating costs are proportional to the amount of fluid being treated but the application of these methods is usually limited by the cost of the chemicals and their adsorption and loss onto the rock of the oil containing formation. In all of these methods the chemicals are injected into several wells and the production occurs in other nearby wells. FOAMERS - PRODUCT LIST Product characteristic

DEFOAMERS AND LOW FOAMING AGENTS During processing of the drilling fluids inside separator much foam is being produced. The foam tightly covers the surface and disables degassing. Second important disadvantage is reduction of gas space inside the separator and possibility of escape through the gas outlet in form of a mist or larger liquid drops. This is why the antifoamers are introduced upstream of the separator. By reduction of the surface tension of liquids defoamers prevent production of foams or break down existing ones. CORROSION INHIBITORS Numerous factors occuring during the process such as brine, acids, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulphide and oxygen may initiate the process of oxidation of a metal or an alloy which systems and pipelines are constructed of. Corrosion rate can be reduced by a corrosion inhibitors, which are chemical compounds added to a liquid or gas. Adsorption of those amphiphiles onto the solid/liquid interface and creation of thin film protects the metal systems and pipelines. It is pumped along with gas and oil into the pipeline. Usually the additive is used at the level of well head, gas extraction columns, pipelines header. In order to provide complete protection the corrosion inhibitor products are mainly a combinations of esters of fatty alcohols and amines, imidazolium salts, quaternary ammonium salts and amides mixed in right proportion and formulated as per the local requirement of each oil and gas field. Good corrosion inhibitor features: • robust film-forming characteristics, • suitable for various metallurgies, • excellent stability over a range of pH and temperature values, • high electrolyte tolerance, • improved lubricity, • low dosage capabilities. PARAMETERS DESCRIPTION HLB (Hydrophilic - Lipophilic Balance) HLB is a parameter defining the ratio of the content of the hydrophilic and hydrophobic group of the molecule. The HLB range for non-ionic surfactants is between 0 and 20 and expresses the percentage of the hydrophilic part of the molecule. HLB by Griffin: weight of hydrophilic part HLB=20 * molecular molecular weight of the product
HLB for ester-type compounds (ethoxylated fatty acids):
HLB=20 * (1 - SV ) AV where: SV - saponification value of the product of ethoxylation in mgKOH/g AV - acid value of acids subjected to ethoxylation in mgKOH/g HLB value

Cloud point An indicator determining the behaviour of nonionic surfactants (obtained in the process of condensation with ethylene oxide) in water or in mixtures consisting of water and organic solvents. In water or in mixtures of water and organic solvents, solutions of surfactants become cloudy at certain temperature when heated. The process is reversible and the substance becomes clear when cooled is referred to as the cloud point. Depending on the temperature at which the solution becomes cloudy, there are five methods of determination of cloud point: Method A – aqueous solution (10-90°C) Method B – 50 g/l NaCl solution (>90°C) Method C – 100 g/l NaCl solution (>90°C) Method D – 5 g + 45 g of 25% butyldiglycol / aqueous solution (<10°C) Method E – 5 g + 25 g of 25% butyldiglycol / aqueous solution (<10°C)
Amine value Reflects the amount of hydrochloric acid (HCl) necessary to neutralize the primary, secondary and tertiary amines of the analysed sample. Expressed in mgKOH/g.
OILINE/14

Hydroxyl value It is the measure of the content of the hydroxyl group (-OH) or, indirectly, of the amount of hydroxyl compounds in the substance under analysis. The number amount of milligrams of potassium hydroxide (KOH), expressed in mg/g, necessary to neutralize acetic acid (CH3COOH) involved in the acetylation reaction.
Saponification value An indication of the content of esterfied and free carboxyl groups in 1 g of the substance under analysis. It is expressed as the amount of mg of potassium hydroxide (KOH) necessary to neutralize 1 g of the substance under analysis.
RSN Relative solubility number - is reported as the volume of water needed to get a turbid or cloudy solution. RSN was determined by titrating water in a solution containing 1 g of surfactant and 30 ml of toluene (3%) and dioxan (97%) mixture.

REACH Regulation deals with the safe use of chemicals by Registration, Evaluation and in some cases Authorization and restriction of trade in some Chemicals. REACH Regulation has already come into force. It is considered one of the greatest and most complex legal acts ever implemented in Europe. Not only did it cause significant changes in the Polish chemical industry, but it also affects the activity of other users of chemicals and it obliges them to take appropriate actions. REACH package is designed to broaden our knowledge about the chemical substances we use, oblige the manufacturers to prove that the chemical substance is safe for use and even prohibit the use of the most hazardous chemicals. PCC Exol SA, as a large chemical company, will meet this new challenge. Not only do we provide declarations that we have already pre-registered and registered the substances we manufacture and distribute, but we also actively participate in Substance Information Exchange Forum (SIEF) and form consortia with other chemical companies with a view to joint submission of registration dossier. We are the exclusive representative of the chemical manufacturers in UE Community and we are in constant contact with our suppliers and customers. According to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH), the manufacture or import of chemical substances in volumes exceeding 1 ton per year must be registered at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in Helsinki. REACH registration is related to substances and not products, e.g. preparations/formulations of substances. Production, import and marketing of a REACH-substance will be restricted to those uses evaluated in its registration dossier. The REACH process starts with preregistration (1st June 2008 until 1st December 2008), which ensures the availability of preregistered substances to the registration date. The date of registration depends on the production volume of the substance and lies between 2010 and 2018. We confirm that we will, pursuant to REACH requirements, pre-register all substances manufactured by PCC Exol SA Functional Chemicals Division in the EU or imported in the EU, that are relevant for the products listed in this brochure. However, no guarantee can be given that PCC Exol SA will offer all listed products in the future, if REACH registration requirements lead to unacceptable costs, PCC Exol SA will contact its customers to find an appropriate solution.

Quality Management Systems Since our operations are conducted in full compliance with legal and other requirements, including environmental requirements, the design, production and sale of large volumes of specialist, often unique, chemical products for further processing requires coordinated cooperation of many services at the Company’s disposal. And here the certified quality management system and environmental management system prove very useful. These are two systems, currently integrated, which enable our employees to be aware of their roles in reaching quality and environmental targets. They know that in the end, carrying out their tasks in accordance with procedures applicable to their positions and other internal regulations, they provide our clients with exactly what they expect from us, acting in conditions of reasonable and legal usage of the environment. Obtained certificates of the quality management system and environmental management system which we present on our website are important as they confirm our competences within quality and environmental management; however, the only thing that really counts is how we can secure the interests of our clients, and the quality management system in use in PCC Exol SA, supported with the environmental management system, provides us with a lot of tools aiding us in reaching this goal.
