Garlic and Ginger
SHRIMP WITH BOK CHOY By DIDI LUTZ @ SELFTAUGHTPAINTER
INGREDIENTS 1 MEDIUM ONION, CHOPPED 3-4 SCALLIONS, CHOPPED 1 SMALL BOK CHOY, CHOPPED 2 TBSP. OLIVE OIL 2 CLOVES GARLIC, MINCED 1 TSP. TURMERIC 1 TSP. DRIED GINGER 1/2 CUP WATER 1 LB. LARGE SHRIMP SOY SAUCE SALT AND PEPPER TO TASTE
METHOD • Sauté the onion, scallions, and bok choy in olive oil on medium high heat for 4 minutes. Add garlic, turmeric, ginger, and salt and pepper to taste. Stir to coat and sauté until fragrant. Add water and lower heat. Cover and simmer for about 20 minutes. • Add shrimp and cook for 5-7 minutes. Adjust seasoning and add a couple drops soy sauce. Top with black sesame, if desired.
