OVERFLOW PR ACTICES
In 2022, our church read through the Bible together during Quest. In 2023, we spent the year diving deep into the books of Matthew and Romans. In 2024, we will strive to become more like Jesus by rediscovering the ancient practices of prayer, study, sabbath, celebration, and many more. Our knowledge of scripture, coupled with studying how Jesus lived his life while on earth, will help us become people who Overflow with the goodness of God.

A LIFE WITH JESUS
/ SERMON O U T LINE W HO CA N PR AY? • A widow—the tragic □ “Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.” (18:1) □ “And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’” (18:3) □ “However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” (18:8) • A tax collector—the sinner □ “To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable …” (18:9) □ “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ (18:13) □ “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” (18:14) • A child—the helpless □ “People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them.” (18:15) □ “Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” (18:17)
HOW T O PR AY □ Come with persistent trust □ Ask with humble mercy □ Receive like a child of God
In his life and ministry, Jesus walked alongside others. We grow best as individuals when we allow ourselves to be part of a trusted community. We encourage you to find your place within an Overflow Group, where you will meet to explore what it means to follow the way of Jesus through spiritual practices.
Group gatherings will take place either monthly or more. Most groups will meet for an hour to 90 minutes.
Groups are more than welcome to have meals during their gatherings.
During the gathering, you will watch a 2-3 minute welcome video from Pastor Rich, watch a 10-15 minute teaching video from a staff member or pastor, and spend time together exploring the spiritual practice for the given month.
