A PRISON WITHOUT BARS: JAMES 5:16

1. We were made for one another.

The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” // Genesis 2:18

“Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.” // Genesis 2:25

2. We try to hide.

“I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” // Genesis 3:10

3. We are loved and forgiven.

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” // Ephesians 4:32-5:2

4. We need to confess to one another.

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” // James 5:16

“Sin demands to have a man by himself. It withdraws him from the community. The more isolated a person is the more attractive will be the power of sin over him, and the more deeply he becomes involved in it, the more disastrous is his isolation.”

BREATHLESS HASTE

Finding God in Ordinary Life

In this spiritual memoir, Rebecca and Jay Madden share thirty diverse stories that span the spectrum from the ordinary to the miraculous. These stories reveal how the Maddens discovered God in the most unexpected places—in moments of grief, the embrace of community, the wonders of nature, music, career transitions, and the quiet whispers of His still, small voice.

Breathless Haste is an inspirational testament to the relevance of faith in our modern world. Let Rebecca and Jay’s stories inspire and empower you to awaken your own heart, mind, and soul as you embark on a journey to discover the extraordinary in the everyday— and live your life with purpose.
