And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. —Philippians 1:9 –11

A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. The author of multiple New York Times bestsellers, including Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy and the keynote speaker for the 2012 National Prayer Breakfast is coming back for another inspirational evening. Eric’s latest book, Seven Women, and its predecessor, Seven Men, offer inspiring examples of how followers of Jesus can live by the virtues of the gospel in our contemporary cultural context. Peachtree hosted an electric evening for Metaxas in 2013 and looks forward to the opportunity to again host this great “thinking Christian.” Don’t miss this special event! TOURS OF PEACHTREE Tours of Peachtree will be given today following each worship service. Please meet in the Williams Center by the piano.

DID YOU KNOW… • Peachtree is a 444,000 square foot facility perched on over 15 acres of land? • The Gym at Peachtree hosts over 50 classes per week and 62 men’s basketball league teams? • The Ascension Window was crafted by Joseph V. Llorens? Llorens considered it his finest work.

As America has become more secular, the city can seem less welcoming than rural areas. But the truth is that Christianity is more at home in cities than in any other setting. Perhaps like no other time in Christian history, first-century New Testament life strategies for work and love and truth and sex have relevance and instructional power for us today. Christianity has always been an urban faith. Learn how to follow Jesus in one of the most dynamic cities in the world — Atlanta, 2015. Four week series begins next Sunday, August 16.
