LISTEN TO GOD’S WORD
Prayer of Confession Merciful God, this Christmas we have remembered your love for this world and celebrated your coming to us in Jesus. In your Son you gave us both a gift and a calling. We confess that we gladly receive your gift while often neglecting your call to share that gift with the world. Forgive our reluctance to tell your good news to a world that needs to hear it. Give us confidence in this good news, knowing that it can change lives. Make us bold in living out the change it has made in us. Renew and encourage our hearts even now as we offer our silent prayers of confession . . .

What can I give him, poor as I am? If I were a shepherd, I would bring Him a lamb. If I were a wise man I’d do my part, Yet what can I give him? Give Him my heart.

Signs of Christianity’s decline are increasing in America. Pluralism, secularism, relativism, and even atheism are on the rise. Religion is increasingly individual and eclectic, untied to the Bible and the Church. Congregational attendance is down across the country. The major denominations are shrinking. Christians are portrayed as narrow, intolerant and on the “wrong side of history.” What is going on? Are we in a Post Christian age? Where is Jesus in all of this? Have we been here before? Is there hope for the future? Join us as we explore what it means to have hope in a changing world.

As the year draws to a close, there are three ways to make your 2013 gifts comply with I.R.S. regulations:
• Check - Your check must be dated and postmarked by December 31, 2013, to be included in your 2013 giving. • Stock - The stock must be in the church’s account by December 31, 2013, to be included in your 2013 giving. It is important that you initiate this transfer by December 20th to allow for the year-end delay in transfers being completed. To obtain transfer information and to notify the church of your gift, please contact Lynn Dawson at 404-842-5841 or email at ldawson@peachtreepres.org. (Your stock gift does not come with your name attached so we do not know the donor unless you let us know.) • Credit Card - Submit your gift online with a credit card. As with any gift, the transaction must be completed by December 31, 2013, to be included in your 2013 giving. You can do this by going to the church’s web site, peachtreepres.org, and clicking on the “Giving” link. Just follow the steps. You will receive an email confirmation when your charge goes through. For convenience, the Finance Office will be open from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. December 30 and from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on December 31st.
