GIVE PRAISE TO GOD

Hymn of Praise** How Firm a Foundation  Not in hymnal Lighting of the Candles Placing of the Bible Prayer of Confession*  Merciful God, the sins we confess today are sins we easily hide. We have learned the skill of concealing our hearts with a pleasant smile and polite conversation. And yet, we know the darker self that lies beneath the surface of what we show to others. We see what life has brought to our neighbor, and we feel envy. We dwell on what life has failed to bring to us and we feel anger. Like Cain, we look at our brother and we make comparisons, and resentments brood unseen. Forgive our secret sins. Work deep within us in these moments and shed light on our shadowed hearts. Cover us with your grace as we continue our confession in silence… Assurance of God’s Forgiveness Congregational Response* Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing  #379 (v. 3)

Invitation to Prayer  11:15 | Peachtree Youth Choir Write Your Blessed Name  K. Lee Scott Pastoral Prayer & The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Offering Our Gifts Refuge and Strength  Mark Hayes God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear.

Doxology* Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow  #544

GO IN GOD’S NAME

Hymn of Response* Grace Greater Than Our Sin  Not in hymnal Invitation and Benediction* Postlude

Though the earth should change, Though the earth should crumble into the sea, Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the water surge! There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, The holy dwelling of the Most High. God is in the midst of the city. It shall not be moved. God will help when the morning dawns. The nations are in an uproar. The kingdoms of men have tottered. God thunders, the earth melts. The God of hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our fortress.

Life of the Congregation** —Psalm 46:1–7

The beautiful flowers in the Sanctuary this morning are given to the glory of God and in Loving Memory of: William D. Young by Mr. & Mrs. William D. Young, Jr.

Those who are able, please stand. Ushers will seat latecomers at this time.

Many parts of the globe experience critical food shortages. Peachtree’s Seeds of Hope seed packing event is making a difference. Seeds represent a future. When they are planted and grow, they produce gardens that grow more than food —they grow hope. A garden can feed 6–8 people for a year, plus produce seeds for the future planting season. A single garden can transform a family from food scarcity to sustainability in a single growing season. Join us February 26–28 as we pack seeds for over 61,000 family gardens for our mission partners in Malawi and Liberia. Give communities the hope that comes with food security. peachtreechurch.org/seedsofhope
