PLACEMENTS, INTERNSHIPS AND STUDENT EXPERIENCE As the economy and industries are under pressure, what kind of impact can this have on placements? The economy and industry have indeed been impacted by the current global crisis. With time, however, the usual hiring trend will resume. At Pearl Academy, there is a competent Student Placement team which ensures students are placed after they complete the course successfully. Even right now, the placement team is ensuring student placements. Our graduates also receive placement support for 5 years after completion of graduation.
How is the Academy helping students for their industry internship projects during COVID 19? Many Businesses have indeed postponed or cancelled internships and graduation projects. However, we have not been adversely impacted by this. The institute introduced a new curriculum and pedagogy known as Pearl Total Learning System (PTLS) three years ago. As part of PTLS, we have encouraged various industries to offer our students industry projects. These projects are mentored by members from the industry & by our faculty. Most of these projects have been converted to online projects and are expected to be completed on time. In addition to this, our students have an option to do an online collaborative project with students from our International partner universities such as Manchester Metropolitan University, FIT New York, etc. PTLS is agile and provides those students who were unable to complete their projects an opportunity to complete the industry projects in the winter semester as well when we hope things will become normal.
