When cancer cells start reproducing in our body our immune system weakens. Common cancer treatments focus on attacking and killing cancer cells, but they do nothing to help our body build strength in a time when it is needed the most. The concept of the building is
to provide a path designed to facilitate four major lifestyle changes: Avoiding toxins, managing stress, exercise, and correcting our diet. These four pillars for making our body resist cancer translated into modules that formed interior
patios when displaced. The patios act as filters of everything that might hinder a proper recovery. The building invites to take action and regain control of your life. As the user walks through each module he is prompted to make a lifestyle change.

The recognition of the site as a high transit urban habitat prompts the developers of Timber by Bridge to petition the city grant permission to redevelop the space under the bridge and provide the city a variety of improvements and a public wellness facility, in exchange for a higher allowable resitential density. The longspan structure studies glulam technology and proposes a “branch like butress that holds together a load bearing roof and facilitates construction by providing a chase for systems integration.

Funded in 1930, Campo Valdes, is one of the most well known traditional districs of Medellin. It is located on the northeastern side of the city, placing it in a privilaged closeness to the city center. It is adjacent to city famous “Jardin BotĂĄnicoâ€? , making it a very well located neighborhoud Its population consists of middle-class working people, with the majority being ages 55 and older. conforming the urban intervention to be developed in the studio, designed to bring back life to the districts water sources and return them to the districs population.
DEMOGRAPHIC STUDY
Vegetation Green masses account of the lowest temperature areas, and these tend to follow the water sources in the area.
Sound Being close to the city center, noise pollution can reach high levels in the area, making the inside of the urban blocks the most quiet areas.
Accesibility The urban squares are permeable, making it easy for the inside to be accesed. This creates a semi-public space on their inside.
Temperature Water sources and green spaces cool down the district, again, making the inside of the district blocks the most calm.
Distric Blocks Campo Valdes is made up of 80x80m blocks, with exceptions on those on which water sources are present.
Topography The districts topography shows various water sources being canalized in important areas, giving the oportunity for a design strategy.

In Medellin, the “Solar is a name given to the inner courtyard inside a home where the light goes in. It is a calm place for reflection and for contemplation. This gives the geriatric center its name. All the circulation paths lead to an inner courtyard that recieves natural light

MASTER PLAN ANALYSIS
Mobility and Accesibility Potentiate existing roads and prioritize peatonal pathways. Improve bus system by creating a circuit around the city.
Natural Structure This sistem is understanded as the base to formulate a logical public space proposal. Lineal parcks are determined throguhout the water sources, this lineal parcks delimit the consolidated zone of “La Estrella. A green transversality is planned to break thorugh the city to form nodes of public activity. In addition, interior blocks will be activated as public space, giving pedestrians priority. 8 public space proyects are to be formulated to develop a public space city plan. 41

Morfology Activate block interior to create public space and peatonal walkways. Re-estructure commercial streets to permit a easier flow of movement.
Socio- Cultural Potentiate the cultural and patrimonial edge existing in the citi center. The simbolic component of the area, which is traditional “barrio” from Medellin, is to be conserved.

The site in is located in Apt, a town built on top of an old Roman city. One of the few public plazas of the town part of the ruins are sticking out of the ground. The city wants to construct a public building that will activate the plaza, but also something that will provide needed protection to the ruins, and mantain as much open plaza as possible By elevating the plaza surrounding the ruins 2 programatic components can be acchieved, and by lifting the building off the ground the public space is increased. The piece of heritage is protected and framed as a work of art.

“At the 13 violence wont defeat us!!!”
A Tale of Resiliency Comuna 13 is known by many for its physical aspects but by many more for its history. Located on the mountain side of the valley city Medellin, Colombia, the comuna is the most densely populated place in the country. People with the lowest socioeconomic status of the city gathered here and the fabella grew unrestrictedly for decades. On the other hand, the upbringing of Medellin as a city was extremely turbulent, and the fabella was vulnerable. Through its settlement the Comuna has been controlled by gueril-

la, paramilitary, and gang activity much before the state took over. In addition, the 90’s in Medellin were not a joke. Pablo Escobar was at the peak of his reign of terror and the Comuna 13 was his. He built homes for the poor in exchange of loyal hitmen. How ever this would all change. After his death, and the expulsion of the Guerilla from the city, the fabella came out of the slums. It flourished with peace, innovation, artwork, and resiliency. It became a beacon for adapting and surviving.
