Member Reward Program:
From the Administrative Office
Message from General Manager
Just a reminder that the 2011-2012 WCI Member Reward Program, exclusively for Golf Members of WCI Clubs, ends on October 31, 2012. Reward points must be redeemed by October 31, 2012, after which they shall have no value. This program was developed so that WCI Members received rewards from TaylorMade when bringing guests to golf at WCI courses. Upon check-in at the posted guest rate, the guest receives a complimentary sleeve of TaylorMade golf balls. The WCI Member will receive a rewards card to record the member guest rounds played at Pelican Preserve Golf Club, or other participating WCI Golf Courses. The Member receives points for each guest round played which are redeemed for TaylorMade merchandise. This has been a very popular program and a new 2012-2013 WCI Member Reward Program is in the works!
Resident Weeks
There is no better time to come experience all that the Golf Club has to offer. Join us for our special Resident Weeks scheduled August 27-September 2 and September 24-30. Residents may play golf for a special rate of $35 and enjoy all of the amenities at the Golf Club. We also have some special events planned during these weeks. Contact Chris Pilgrim, Membership Director at (239) 985-1742 for more information.
Golf Course Maintenance Update
In the original design of Pelican Preserve there were specific areas around greens called collection areas. As part of our summer maintenance program we have begun reincorporating these collection areas around several of our greens. Opening up these areas and adding to the approaches will increase playability and enjoyment by adding some different shot options. Instead of having a limited flop or a pitch shot, you will now be able to putt and/or bump and run. There are several steps that go into this process such as painting new lines, scalping the turf in the new areas and then over of the next several months we will need to make adjustments. Though initially the scalping is not very visually appealing, Bermuda grass is very resilient to this process and will recover quickly.
Security at Pelican Preserve Kent Security will be checking Residents and guests for wristband and ID cards on a more frequent basis. Please remember to bring your Resident wristbands or ID cards with you to the outdoor pool and various areas at the Town Center. If you are in need of a wristband, please inquire with the Staff at Soleil. Guest wristbands can be picked up at the Fitness Center as well.
Pelican Preserve Vehicle Storage Lot All vehicles parked in the Pelican Preserve Storage lot must be registered with the Town Center Administrative Office. To register your vehicle, please see Debbie Bill in the Town Center Administrative Office or call Debbie at (239) 985-1770. Any un-registered vehicle in the Pelican Preserve storage lot will be towed at the owner’s expense. Residents returning from the North who are planning to store vehicles and trailers in the Storage lot over the winter should contact Debbie Bill in the Town Center Administrative Office so she can update the storage lot records.
Dog Park Usage & Maintenance If you are interested in utilizing the dog park, you must register your dog at the Administration Office of the Town Center. Once your dog is registered, we will issue a special tag for your dog and provide you with the gate code. You are welcome to complete the required forms at home and bring them to the Office. Forms can be found in the Administrative Office and online on the Pelican Preserve website under Forms and Documents. Please note that the Dog Park will be closed the first Monday of every month for routine maintenance.

Garden Plots
Robert Cranor, Landscape Supervisor, and his crew will be tilling, spraying and covering the garden plots for the summer. The garden will reopen Monday, October 1, 2012. We determine the garden plot assignments for the 2012/2013 season by a simple lottery. If you are interested in entering your name to obtain a garden plot for next season, please contact Debbie Bill in the Administration Office by calling (239) 985-1770 or emailing debbiebill@wcicommunities.com. All names must be received by September 3, 2012, at which time we will randomly draw 48 names and issue the garden plots. Those selected will be asked to sign a new Plot Usage Form.
