Breastfeeding Support Group Mondays, December 3 – 24, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. (Every Monday, please call ahead if it falls on a holiday) Waldo County General Hospital, Women & Infants Unit, Ground Floor 118 Northport Avenue, Belfast Meet other new mothers who are breastfeeding. The group offers support and guidance to breastfeeding mothers from certified lactation consultants and certified lactation counselors. Siblings are welcome. Cancer Support Group Tuesdays, December 4 & 18, 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Oncology & Infusion Therapy, Waldo County General Hospital 116 Northport Avenue, Ludwig Medical Building, Belfast This group is for cancer patients at any stage – newly diagnosed, currently in treatment and long-term survivors. A cancer diagnosis can be scary and can feel isolating; support groups offer a network of comfort, recognition and guidance. The group is facilitated by Ashley Hoffmann, LSW and Claudia B. Parkinson’s Support Group Meeting Tuesday, December 4, noon to 2:00 p.m. (First Tuesday of each month) Anderson Inn, Quarry Hill, 30 Community Drive, Camden All those living with Parkinson’s disease, their loved ones and caregivers are invited to join for holiday merrymaking and more at the group’s December meeting. After socializing and sharing festive goodies, attendees will separate into small groups for discussion. Participants are encouraged to bring purchased or home-baked treats to share. Mother’s Milk Support Group Tuesdays, December 4 – 18, 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Pen Bay Medical Center, Chapel Room, 6 Glen Cove Drive, Rockport A support group for breastfeeding families. The informal group provides interaction as well as individual assistance when needed. Women wanting more information about breastfeeding are also welcome. Fight the Flu Thursday, December 6, 6:30 to 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Waldo County General Hospital, Classroom, Ground Floor 118 Northport Avenue, Belfast Belfast Public Health Nursing will provide free flu shots to adult Belfast residents. Postpartum Support Group Thursdays, December 6 – 27, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. First Floor Community Room, Biscone Building 119 Northport Avenue, Belfast AND Pen Bay Medical Center, Cardiac Rehab Solarium, 6 Glen Cove Drive The group alternates locations weekly: December 6 and 20 will be held at Pen Bay Medical Center. December 13 and 27 will be held at Waldo County General Hospital. The postpartum support group was created by a group of women and moms, who have gone through challenging postpartum experiences themselves and/or have been educated on postpartum experiences. We offer a safe place for new and pregnant mothers and families to talk listen, get support and gain education on postpartum experiences. This is a free group for moms and moms-to-be who want to connect with other women for support. No registration required. For more information, please call 505-4140.

Introduction to Reflexology Thursday, December 6, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. First Church in Belfast, 8 Court Street, Belfast Join Elisabeth Wolfe, RN, BSN, ARCB certified reflexologist, to learn about the benefits and techniques of reflexology. Reflexology is a specific touch technique applied to the feet, hands and/or ears that provides deep relaxation and supports the ability to heal. Anyone can provide themselves or their loved ones with reflexology after some general education and experience. This class is free but space is limited so pre-registration is required.
