December Events Pen Bay Medical Center & Waldo County General Hospital Happy Wanderers Hiking Group: Stover Preserve, Belfast Thursday, Dec. 1, 10 a.m. to noon Doak Road, Belfast This hike is a .9 mile loop and the level is easy. The hike will be led by Coastal Mountains Land Trust staff members and a PBMC Community Health Improvement team member. Belfast Public Health Free Flu Clinic Thursday, Dec. 1, noon to 5 p.m. Belfast Boathouse, 34 Commercial St., Belfast Belfast Public Health Nursing hosts a free flu shot clinic for uninsured Belfast residents. The clinic is open to adults 18+. No appointment necessary. Alzheimer's Disease Support Group Tuesday, Dec. 6, 6 p.m. Virtual Meeting The Alzheimer’s Support Group provides information and support to area residents who have loved ones coping with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. Currently the group is meeting via Zoom. Free. Those interested in participating should contact Cheri R. Blouin, LSW at 301-6237 or cheri.blouin@mainehealth.org for the meeting details. Held Support Group Tuesday, Dec. 6, 6 to 7 p.m. Beebe Center, 15 Anchor Drive, Rockport This group provides a safe space for families grieving the loss of a child through miscarriage or pregnancy loss. Join Leah Kohlstrom and Claire Philbrook to explore grief with tea and the occasional activity. This will be a space to share and process grief alongside others who have experienced similar loss. Breastfeeding Support Group Wednesdays, Dec. 7-28, 11 a.m. to noon Beebe Center, 15 Anchor Drive, Rockport This informal support group for breastfeeding families providers interaction as well as individual assistance when needed. Women wanting more information about breastfeeding are also welcome. Facilitated by a lactation consultant. Because of room occupancy constraints, we are limited to a maximum of seven moms with babies in arms. Siblings will not be allowed at this time. Please call 3018337 for more information. Take a Break with Guided Meditation Wednesday, Dec. 7, noon to 12:30 p.m. Virtual class Making time in your day to recharge can be as simple as tuning in for as much of this short meditation break as you can. The class will begin with a 15 to 20 minute guided meditation, followed by five minutes of silent meditation and a brief time for reflections and questions.
