Virtual Breastfeeding Support Group - WCGH Mondays, June 1 – 29, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. (Every Monday, please call ahead if it falls on a holiday) This group offers breastfeeding support and guidance to breastfeeding mothers. Our certified lactation consultants and certified lactation counselors will lead breastfeeding topics such as the early weeks, fussy babies, common problems and solutions, going back to work, nutrition and long term breastfeeding success. Virtual Breastfeeding Support Group - PBMC Virtual Tuesdays, June 2 – 30, 12:00 to 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. (Every Tuesday, please call ahead if it falls on a holiday) A support group for breastfeeding families. The informal group provides interaction as well as individual assistance when needed. Women wanting more information about breastfeeding are also welcome. Virtual PBMC Postpartum Support Group Thursdays, June 4 & 18, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We offer a safe place for new and pregnant mothers and families to talk listen, get support and gain education on postpartum experiences. This is a free group for moms, moms-to-be and family members who want to connect with others for support. For more information, please call 301-8337. Natural Mindfulness Monday, June 8, noon to 12:45 p.m. Virtual class Did you know that engaging in moments of open awareness can help bring your body and mind back to a state of wellbeing? In this class you will be guided in using various body sensing practices that you can take into daily life to access this natural state of relaxed, open awareness. $5 registration fee is required. Easy Going Yoga Tuesdays, June 9 – 30, noon to 1:00 p.m. Virtual class Easy Going Yoga is designed with the older student in mind. Antonia Small, owner of ORYX WORX Fitness, will teach you to stretch, strengthen, breathe and relax while improving your posture and body alignment. Beginner Plus Line Dancing Tuesdays, June 9 – July 7, 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Virtual class This class will start with a traditional beginner style of learning and reviewing dances with three to four distinct movements. As the class progresses, participants will learn additional movement and dance combinations. No partner necessary. $32.50 registration fee is required. Simple Strategies for Fall Prevention Wednesday, June 10, 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Virtual Class Many believe that falls are inevitable as we get older. That doesn’t have to be the case. Building balance and strength are essential to preventing falls and maintaining your independence. Join personal trainer Rachael McCormick and certified A Matter of Balance facilitator Megan Day to learn exercises and easy changes you can implement at home to decrease your chances of falling. Do you find yourself overwhelmed with too much stuff? Decluttering 101 can help you identify different types of clutter and develop a strategy for tackling it once and for all. You will leave with an action plan to help you clear out what you don’t want so you can truly enjoy the things you love. Save the Date: Strides for Support Virtual Benefit 5k July 19 – July 31 In an effort to encourage physical activity and protect the health of our community, Journey to Health is excited to host our first-ever virtual 5k. The Strides for Support virtual benefit 5k will honor those affected by cancer and provide support to the oncology patient assistance funds at PBMC and WCGH. We invite you to walk, jog or run wherever you are to honor family members, friends and neighbors whose lives have been affected by cancer. As a virtual participant you can choose a time and place to walk, run or be active (while social distancing) between July 19 and July 31.
