October Events Pen Bay Medical Center & Waldo County General Hospital PBMC and WCGH are offering childbirth education and support groups and a few outdoor community health & wellness classes in person. Breastfeeding Support Group Thursdays, October 1 – 29, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Community Room, Biscone Building, 119 Northport Ave, Belfast (Every Monday, please call ahead if it falls on a holiday) This group offers breastfeeding support and guidance to breastfeeding mothers. Our certified lactation consultants and certified lactation counselors will lead breastfeeding topics such as the early weeks, fussy babies, common problems and solutions, going back to work, nutrition and long term breastfeeding success. Registration is required, please call WCGH lactation services at 505-4109. All participants will be contacted by the facilitator of the group for a verbal screening and will need to follow social distancing and masking guidelines. Postpartum Support Group Thursdays, October 1 & 8, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Pen Bay Medical Center We offer a safe place for new and pregnant mothers and families to talk, listen, get support and gain education on postpartum experiences. This is a free group for moms, moms-to-be and family members who want to connect with others for support. Registration is required, please call 301-8337. All participants will be contacted by the facilitator of the group for a verbal screening and will need to follow social distancing and masking guidelines. Meeting location will be confirmed during registration.
