Our mission TO STRIVE FOR THE HIGHEST Each Penrhos student is encouraged to pursue her own personal learning journey, to define her ambitions and to invest in her personal growth to realise her dreams. We recognise all our students as individuals. Our rich and diverse community stretches in many directions across geography, religion, culture, career and personal aspirations; we value each girl’s hopes and dreams equally, as we encourage her to strive for the highest across the breadth of her learning experience at Penrhos.
Strategic direction Penrhos College is a vibrant and thriving community of approximately 1,000 students, 250 staff and 10,000 alumni. Our College motto and mission ‘Strive for the Highest’ continues to be as relevant today as it was when the school was founded in 1952. We are committed to the benefits of an all-girls learning environment from the outset, in which students are free to pursue their interests and goals without stereotyping or distraction. Our typically smaller-than-state-school class sizes are designed to promote individual understanding of each student, so we are best able to support her personalised learning journey at every step of the way. The Penrhos approach is grounded in a sense of identity and wellbeing, which underpins the development of confident and involved learners. Our educational philosophy spans the ‘whole person paradigm’, in which the pursuit of personal best across mind, heart, body and spirit is valued and prioritised equally. Ours is a faith-based community, in the tradition of the Uniting Church. Students of all religions are welcome here, where we value our rich and diverse community in which we recognise the value of mutual respect and learning from each other.
