For Reception I this week, we went all Christmas. Our story of the week was ‘How the Grinch stole Christmas’. We wrote our letters to Santa, learnt how to draw a Snowman. We did some craft and Science around the story of the Grinch. We made tissue roll Grinch. We mixed vinegar and baking soda in a bottle to make a gas that blew up a balloon tightly capped on the bottle. We also did some Christmas addition and Christmas decoration counting. We have been looking at lots of Oxford Reading Tree books. This week we looked at the names of the characters and some flash cards of the same. We are spelling CVC words and now beginning to read sentences.

The festive season has begun in Reception A! Our story this week was The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. Oh, what fun we had. We drew him, coloured him, painted him using our handprint and we even did an experiment with a balloon, baking soda, and vinegar and WE WATCHED HIS HEART GROW 3 TIMES BIGGER!!!! We also took a break from our desks and relaxed with YOGA! Some also completed Mrs. Ross’s challenge and made a den. Well done Aarav and George.
