OCTOBER 2021 5M AY 2020
A letterMorning from Mr.Assembly Price Monday Dear Peponi House Parents, An exciting week ends and with it a successful first half term of the school year. Inter House Cross Country is always special and it was fantastic to see everyone trying so hard with their running this week. The children were tested, and it was inspiring to see them applying themselves with such determination. There was also great support for each other’s efforts and genuine enthusiasm and encouragement for those who found the whole thing a bit of a struggle. Well done! Everyone should take satisfaction from a tough yet positive experience. House Football matches were also keenly contested this week. Again, great determination was on display. It has been pleasing to see the progress both boys and girls have made with their football this term. We look forward to playing cricket after half term and the new cricket nets will allow players to further hone their skills. With this in mind there will be extra after school cricket net sessions led by Kennedy Obuya, for various Year Groups, alongside the normal after school sports sessions:
Monday U13 Hockey and Rugby, Year 5 Cricket Nets
Tuesday U11 Hockey and Rugby, Year 8 Cricket Nets
Wednesday U13 Hockey and Rugby, Year 6 Cricket Nets
Thursday U9 Hockey and Rugby, Year 7 Cricket Nets
Preparation for the Standard Chartered Marathon also continues during the week beginning Monday 25th October. It was good to meet so many parents here at school last weekend and we hope that you all have a restful Half Term. The children and the staff here at Peponi have worked hard since September and I am sure they are all looking forward to a rest. I hope you also get the chance to relax and to spend some peaceful family time together. With very best wishes,
Mr Price

We learnt all about Our Senses this term and we made some Ooblek, so that we could use our fingers to ‘touch’ and ‘feel’ its amazing texture.
Many of us found it difficult to use a knife and fork properly, so in PSHE we have been practicing how to hold and use a knife and fork properly.

Olivia in 4F planted some flower seeds... or so she thought. When children from 3P were watering the Garden Club seedlings, they had a bit of a surprise! Even though they had read the Frog Prince recently, none of them were willing to kiss it! And, as they pointed out... it was actually a toad so we set it free in the school garden.

We kicked off our school edible gardens this term! Students from Year 1 to Year 6 have been busy sowing seeds; watching their seedlings grow and learning how to work together to take care of their young plants. We’re growing carrots, lettuce, sugar snaps, beans, lettuce, sunflowers, edible flowers like nasturtiums and a selection of fragrant herbs to name a few! The students even made their own watering cans out of used milk bottles which gave us the opportunity to discuss the importance of reducing waste!
