Here are our 3 favourite tips for new mums:

Are you at home with your beautiful new arrival and not sure what you should be doing to help your pelvic floor, C section scar or abdomen recover from your birth?

Perhaps you have questions on where you should be starting to help your recovery?

Here at Synergy Physio we are a team of experts in women’s health and we know and understand how challenging those first six weeks can be! In conjunction with your birth story, there are also new routines, fatigue, breastfeeding and your babies health to consider.

Making appointments for yourself, suddenly can become an additional challenge!

Did you know that early intervention to help your pelvic floor and pelvis recover from birth is essential?

1. When breastfeeding take care to support your posture, and the baby with pillows so you can relax without excessive muscle tension. After feeding try stretching your arms behind your head with your elbows wide, lift and open your chest to stretch.

2. Start your pelvic floor exercises as soon as possible! Start in the first week after delivery. During feeding can be a good time to remember.

3. Book an in clinic physio appointment at 4-6 weeks post-natal to have your abdomen, pelvic floor, perineal or C section scars checked.
