We have designed an itinerary highlighting the foods of Italy with tastings of local specialties and the wines & liquors of the region. The guided city tours include a private after-hours visit to the Vatican, a tour of the Coliseum in Rome, a visit to the Basilica of Saint Francis in Assisi, a walking tour in Siena that includes the Duomo, Town Hall and Piazza del Campo, a private vineyard lunch, tour and wine tasting in Tuscany, and a day of touring in Florence.

ABC (the American Broadcasting Company), 125 half-hour programs for the travel division of The Discovery Channel and 250 half hours for Public Broadcasting. He has been nominated for two CableAce Awards and a national Emmy in connection with cultural history.

ROME, ASSISI, SIENA & FLORENCE TOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 – SATURDAY DEPART U.S. Next stop Rome, Italy.

DAY 2 – SUNDAY ARRIVE ROME ➤TRANSFER TO HOTEL Upon your morning arrival at the Rome airport, you will be met by our Englishspeaking guide and a private coach to transfer you to our hotel. This afternoon, you will be free to explore the city or relax in your room. Burt will give you his guide to the city with recommendations for shopping and restaurants for lunch. This evening, Burt will join you for a Welcome Dinner during which we review our itinerary. (D) DAY 3 – MONDAY ROME After breakfast at our hotel, we will take a city sightseeing tour with our local guide during which we will visit the ancient Roman sights including the Coliseum.

Lunch is at a favorite local restaurant followed by an afternoon at leisure. (B,L)

DAY 4 – TUESDAY ROME This morning, we visit two neighborhood food markets. Lunch at a local restaurant then time on your own. During the late afternoon, we will re-group for a private guided after-hours tour of the Vatican. (B,L) DAY 5 – WEDNESDAY ROME ➤ ASSISI SIENA After breakfast at our hotel, we will check-out and depart Rome by private motorcoach for Assisi and a guided tour of the Basilica of Saint Francis. Burt will explain the unique artistic heritage of the site, which was the subject of one of his PBS programs. The tour will be followed by a traditional lunch at one of Assisi’s finest restaurants. After lunch, we will drive through the Tuscan hills to Siena.

This evening, we will have dinner at a local Siena restaurant with a wine tasting. (B,L,D) ➤

DAY 6 – THURSDAY SIENA Our day begins with a walking tour of Siena with a local guide. We’ll visit the Duomo, the Town Hall, and the Piazza del Campo. In the late morning, we will drive out of Siena for a special vineyard lunch, tour, and wine tasting organized by Burt.

This evening, Burt will supply you with

a list of his favorite local restaurants so you may choose where to dine on your own. In addition, Burt will give you a list of recommended wines you might like to taste at dinner. (B,L) DAY 7 – FRIDAY FLORENCE After breakfast, we depart for an all day excursion to Florence. Our day will include a guided city tour to the Duomo, Giotto’s Bell Tower and the Baptistry, Piazza Signoria, Santa Croce and the Academy with the statue of David. We will lunch in a traditional Florentine restaurant. In the late afternoon, we return to Siena. This evening, we will meet for cocktails and say our farewells. (B,L) DAY 8 – SATURDAY DEPART SIENA FOR FLORENCE AIRPORT ➤ DEPART FOR U.S. After breakfast, depart via private motorcoach transfer to the Florence Airport for homebound flights. (B) TOUR COST $3,850 per person (based on double occupancy). Add an additional $567 for single supplement. $500.00 per person deposit is due at time of reservation.

Balance of tour cost is due 90 days prior to tour (by June 1, 2012). Tour cost includes: 6-night hotel with breakfast, service charge & taxes, hotel porters in & out; private English-speaking local guides during entire program in Italy; private deluxe motorcoach & driver for all days per itinerary; all entrance fees and transportation tickets per itinerary, all gratuities for guides, driver, included meals (5 lunches and 2 dinners) per itinerary.

CANCELLATION POLICY 50% of your $500 deposit is refundable if reservation is cancelled prior to June 1, 2012. Cancellation 89 to 30 days prior to tour departure, 50% of tour cost is refundable. Cancellation 29 days to start of tour and/or No-Show, no refund.

EXPENSES NOT INCLUDED IN TOUR COST Expenses not included in the Tour Cost include: roundtrip airfare, optional travel insurance, optional tours not included on tour itinerary, misc. hotel expenses (laundry, telephone, minibar, liquor/food not on included menu), porters, excess

baggage fees, passport, 1 lunch in Rome, 2 dinners in Rome, 2 dinners in Siena, and 2 lunches during the optional 2-night Venice extension, and all other items of a personal nature.

OPTIONAL POST-TOUR EXTENSION TO VENICE (2 NIGHTS) DAY 8 – SATURDAY DEPART SIENA ➤ VENICE After breakfast at our hotel, depart via private motorcoach to Florence then on to Venice. After checking into your hotel, you will have time at leisure for independent activities. Tonight, dinner has been arranged at a local restaurant. (B, D) DAY 9 – SUNDAY VENICE This morning you’ll start the day with a walking tour with a local guide. You’ll visit some of the most historic and important places in Venice. Stops will include St. Mark’s Square and Basilica, the Bridge of Sighs and the Doge’s Palace. The rest of the day is at your leisure. An optional 4-hour

excursion is offered to the Island of Murano at a cost of $73 per person. This guided tour begins with a private motor launch to the island where you will see Murano’s famous glassmaking and hand-made lace facilities. This evening enjoy dinner out at a local restaurant. (B, D) DAY 10 – MONDAY DEPART VENICE FOR VENICE AIRPORT ➤ DEPART FOR U.S. After our hotel breakfast, we check-out and depart via private transfer to the Venice Airport for homebound flights.
