Journey of Faith (11) - Soeun Choo Lin

Shalom. My name is Soeun Choo Lin. I’m 13 years old. I’m in the 8th grade. I live in Oddar Meanchey Province. I have four brothers and I am the youngest.

In 2015, my family moved to Tropeang Prasat. I knew about Jesus when I came to study English in Permai Church. At that time my house was very near to the church. I didn’t know that there were English classes at the church, but my neighbour told me that they learned English at the church. So, they recommended for me to study at the church too.
In 2019, I heard some preachers shared about God, so I started to open my heart to the gospel. When I started to believe in God, I realised that my old life hadn't changed completely - maybe only 20 to 35 percent of me that was changed.
As I opened my heart to God, He worked a lot in my life. He helped me to be brave in sharing the gospel with all the people around me. He granted me more wisdom in learning. Before this, I was very weak in Mathematics. I used to fail the subject, so I didn’t like to attend Mathematics class.
In Grade 8, I had a tremendous improvement in Mathematics. I had always prayed that I could improve in Mathematics every day. God works when we pray!
After one year of my faith journey, I know even though it is just a short period of faith for me, God has already redeemed me from all my sins. He has fully paid the price for all my sins. A new life is in me.
Believing in God is not easy. There are always challenges to tempt and persecute me. Sometimes it could come from people around me, such as my family, relatives and friends.
