Journey of Faith (15) - Xairen Barsalote

I am Xairen Barsalote, a second year college student. I want to share my life story on how the Lord Jesus changed me and my family.

Both of my parents came from broken families. They met and lived together and then had 4 children, I am the eldest. I grew up in a troubled family. My father and mother always got into quarrels. We as their children were also affected and there was no peace in our family. For me, life was so difficult. I had no clear direction in my life.

When I was in Grade 11, a friend of mine shared with me about her faith in Jesus and invited me to join an “Encountering God” Retreat. As a hopeless fellow, I did not hesitate to join. There I understood well about the love of God and the works of Jesus for our salvation. And that was the moment I put my trust in Jesus and accepted Him as my personal Lord and Saviour.

Since then, I have been actively attending the Bible study in our school. I looked for a church that could help me grow in my new found faith and the Holy Spirit brought me to the Foursquare Gospel Church under Pastor Rody Cadayona. I joined the discipleship training and began to share my faith to my classmates as well as my family members. I became a Bible study leader and a worship leader in our church. My whole family are already believers and we worship together in the church. Now, my family lives in harmony with the peace of God.

However, although I have already become a believer, there are times that I fall but I thank the Lord that His grace is sufficient for me so that I will not be totally lost.

Now, I plan to go to the Bible School after completing my secular course to offer my life in serving Him. This time, I have clear direction in my life with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

With all my achievements, I give all the glory to God!
