Our vision is to operate as a premier private club with a strong sense of community among its members offering an exceptional golf experience. This handbook is written to help all members find quick answers to commonly asked questions and is especially helpful to those new to a private country club. This is to be used as a reference tool; if you need additional information please do not hesitate to contact either the staff or a member of the Board of Directors. We hope that all members of your family will read this handbook. We recommend that you discuss this with your children so they will understand the etiquette and general policies of the Club as well. Our golf course maintenance staff’s primary focus is to deliver the best possible playing conditions every day. The Greens Committe frequently works with us to ensure the course is ever changing. Persimmon Country Club is a large course with some of the most beautiful views you will find, so enjoy the scenery and the challenge of this great golf course.

Our Food and Beverage staff pride themselves on giving our members the best service and food to make social aspects of the Club memorable. The Dress Code All Members and Guests are required to adhere to the dress code both in the clubhouse and on the course. Members and their guests shall wear suitable attire at all times. Denim in good condition is acceptable everywhere but on the golf course and the tennis courts. All hats must be worn in a face forward fashion at all times throughout the property.

On the Course

Conventional golf attire must be worn on the golf course at all times. All articles of clothing must be clean, free from rips, tears, holes as well as offensive language or pictures. Examples of ‘Acceptable’ clothing: 1. Ladies’ sleeveless, collarless shirts with at least a 3 inch shoulder strap. 2. Men’s shirts with collars, mock neck or turtle neck collars. 3. Ladies’ mid-thigh length shorts or skirts and slacks or capris. 4. Men’s Bermuda length shorts with pockets which are tailored and traditional slacks or khakis. Examples of ‘Unacceptable’ clothing: 1. Any pants that are low riding or sagging. 2. T-Shirts, swim suits, scrubs, cutoffs, athletic style or jogging shorts, short shorts, halter tops, tank tops and bare midriff garments, cotton sweat pants, baggy and workout apparel. 3. Any article of clothing with offensive language. 4. Denim of any kind.

In the Exercise Room

Work out apparel is acceptable only in the exercise room and locker rooms including sweat shirts and sweat pants. Please wear tennis shoes and socks. Shirts are required at all times.No visible bare midriffs or bra tops of any kind are allowed.

In the Swim and Tennis Center Appropriate clothing is required in these areas. Tennis courts require appropriate tennis attire and shirts are required at all times. Members are responsible for the dress and conduct of their guests. Please do not come improperly attired or allow guests to come improperly attired. We will be obligated to refuse golf privileges and/or clubhouse privileges.


Persimmon Mission Statement

Persimmon Country Club (PCC) is an organization comprised of members (the Membership) enjoying services and amenities from the use of facilities being operated by the management company, American Golf Corporation (AGC). The Board of Directors (BOD) will work collaboratively with AGC to assure excellence and satisfaction and value for all parties. The BOD represents the membership to AGC, providing advice and counsel to ensure our club maintains its inclusive culture and is responsive and sensitive to the needs of the entire membership. Jointly, we will ensure our club’s viability by preserving and enhancing a vibrant membership base so that we will be able to provide and maintain first class facilities, service, personnel and programs. Together we will work hand in hand to establish policies and procedures for the long-term success of the Club.

Member Only Website

Persimmon’s course website is www.persimmoncc.com. There is a member only website which requires a login and password. Your login is your member number and your password is the signing member’s first name. On your initial login, please change your password and update your member profile by clicking on the “member tools” option on the left hand side of the screen. The member only website also has a directory function and this is a great way to search for contact information. For questions or concerns regarding logging in to the website, please contact our Membership & Tournament Director Jennifer Avise.

Weekly Email

We send out a weekly email blast, usually on Thursdays, that contains any changing or pertinent information regarding happenings here at the club. This is by far our quickest means of communication and as such, in the event of a change, we would send out an update via email to communicate any necessary information. If you are not receiving the weekly email, please contact our Membership Director at membership@persimmoncc.com. If you had received the email in the past and would like to sign up again, please let us know as well.

Monthly Newsletter

A monthly electronic newsletter will be available on the website. The newsletter contains articles from club management and the Board of Directors, advertisements for upcoming events, news around the club and a two month calendar of upcoming activities.


Accounting Monthly statements are mailed by the 5th business day of each month. Your statement will include your respective monthly dues billing and any itemized charges made to your account through the statement closing date. Tickets are not included, however if you have questions please contact the Accounting Office. The due date for remittance is the last day of the month. You may pay your monthly statement with either check or cash. You can also set up an automatic deduction from your checking or savings account; all deductions occur on the 20th of each month. Food and Beverage Minimums The Food and Beverage Minimum went into effect October 1, 2006 and is as follows: Each membership will be responsible for a $90.00 quarterly food and beverage minimum. Any food and beverage purchases made during the quarter at the Knickers or Percy’s Pub dining rooms, 19th Hole, Beverage Carts, Swim & Tennis Center Snack Bar, or club Social Events will be credited against the $90.00 quarterly minimum; gratuity will not be included in the amount credited. This is particularly important in that most clubs only allow dining room purchases charged to apply towards a member’s food and beverage minimum. Only food and beverage purchases charged to your member account would be credited towards the quarterly food minimum. Any unspent portion of the food and beverage minimum will then be billed to the member’s account on a quarterly basis as outlined below:

Golf Course Maintenance

Our golf course maintenance team performs a variety of agronomic practices to deliver the best golf course conditions throughout the year. The most notable is our fairway aerification and topdressing program that occurs in early April and late September. This program promotes healthier turf while improving drainage and firmer playing conditions. We also have an extensive aerification program of our greens and tees. Aerification relieves the compacted soil conditions and helps to reduce the thatch layers, which allows for better drainage and healthier turf.

All our maintenance practices are consistent with golf courses in the Northwest and are key to us having the best playing conditions year round. Course condition hotline number is 503-674-3212. The hotline number is not updated until daylight and is continually updated throughout the day as weather and delays change.

Pace of Play

The goal of the policy is to have members and their guests play a round of golf at a pace that allows everyone to enjoy their round. There are three components to this policy. • Persimmon Country Club expects members to play the golf course when no cart restrictions are in place at a maximum of 2 hours for 9 holes with a maximum of 4 hours for 18 holes. When cart restrictions are in place, a maximum pace of 2 hours and 10 minutes for 9 holes, and 4 hours and 20 minutes for 18 holes. • In addition to the expected pace times, we also expect golfers to keep pace with the group ahead of you and that you play ready golf at all times during the round. Even if you are playing at the expected pace, you should also keep up with the group in front of you. • If you are on the course and there is no one immediately in front of you, and are caught by another group, it is courteous to allow them to play through as soon as possible, even if you are meeting the pace of play guidelines. This also applies if you are caught by a single or twosome. As with all policies of the club, it is the member’s responsibility to inform their guests and children of the pace of play policy.

Golf Course Etiquette Enforcement

When slow play occures, the golf professional staff will take appropriate action, which could be asking you to increase pace, move your group to the appropriate position, or having you return with your group at another time of day or week.

Playing Groups

Groups greater than four players are not permitted in-season. In the off-season groups greater than four may be permitted at the golf shop’s discretion. When groups consist of less than four players, the golf shop will make every effort to pair players into foursomes.

Replace Divots

Whenever possible, fill divots with displaced turf and press down into place. If the turf cannot be found or has blown apart, fill the divot with sand and seed found on your cart.

Repair Ball-Marks

Take the time to repair your ball mark plus one more to keep our greens running smooth. Ball mark repair tools are available in the Pro Shop.

Rake Bunkers

As you exit a bunker, fill up and smooth over all holes and footprints and place rake outside of bunkers.

Practice

All practicing is limited to the practice areas of the club. Range balls are prohibited on the golf course.

Tee Time Procedure

Members are encouraged to utilize the ForeTees booking system that can be accessed through the member only website. Please make your appointment seven days in advance for weekday play and two days in advance for weekend play. Starting Times: All members must check into the Pro Shop 15 minutes prior to their starting time. Members are expected to be on the 1st tee 5 minutes prior to their starting time. Members late to the tee will be moved to the next available starting time. For any questions, please call the Pro Shop at 503-661-1800.


Saturday Member’s Game Each week will include a Saturday member game block with various formats. The men and women will have the early start time on alternate weeks. One week the women will tee off first, the following Saturday the men will have the tee first. Players must sign up for the Saturday Members’ Game by Wednesday at 5pm. Tee times during the block will be filled sequentially by blind draw. The Member Game ending time will be determined by the number of participants signed up by 5pm on Wednesday. The first tee time of the Member Game is 1 hour after the first available tee time, no earlier than 8 am.

Guest Policy Members may bring Guests to the Club at prescribed times. A Member’s Guest is welcome, but guests are not permitted to play prior to 11:00 am on the weekends in season March October. Off season there is no restriction on guest starting times November - February. All guests must be accompanied by a member. All members must register their guests in the golf shop. Members are responsible for the payment of all fees and any damages incurred by the guest. A guest may play a maximum of one time during the calendar month, regardless of being the guest of another member. Members are responsible for their Guests at all times. Members are to ensure that their Guests abide by our dress code and all policies of the Club.

Golf Cart Rental

All players wishing to rent a golf cart must sign the golf cart agreement. Golf cart rental agreement must be filled out in its entirety. Players must be 16 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license. The agreement is a release and indemnity. Please read carefully before signing. Failure to comply with golf cart policies and rental procedures will result in a loss of cart privileges.


Juniors Juniors are defined as those whose ages are 17 and under. Children under the age of 6 are not permitted on the golf course. No children under the age of 13 are permitted to play the course unless accompanied by an adult. All junior golfers 14-17 years old who wish to play without adult supervision must complete the Persimmon Junior Golf Certification. This same policy regarding junior golfers applies to the practice facilities. Junior golfers are not permitted to play the course prior to 11am on weekends in-season. Off season there is no restriction on junior starting times.

Tournaments

Although the kitchen is closed on Mondays, during the golf season the course on Mondays for tournaments and outings! We do our best to first accommodate Members who want to host an event and then fill the rest of the dates with companies, non-profit organizations and area schools. Food and Beverage Outlets

The food and beverage outlets consist of the Upstairs and Downstairs dining rooms, the beverage carts, the Crossroads Deli, and the Swim and Tennis Snack Bar. • The Upstairs and Downstairs Dining room hours will be published monthly in the newsletter and will change seasonally. There is no food & beverage service on Mondays. • The Swim & Tennis snack bar is open during pool hours from Memorial Day until Labor Day

Knickers (Downstairs Dining Room) The downstairs dining room is intended as the family venue for the club.

Percy’s Pub (Upstairs Dining Room) The upstairs dining room is available to members and their guests over 21 years of age.

Trophy Room The trophy room hours follows those of Percy’s Pub. The trophy room is also available for private parties.

Outside Food & Beverage No outside food and beverage is permitted at the Club and on the course without the prior approval of club management.


Cancellation Policy Dining Rooms and Social Events

In order to provide the best service and freshest product, reservations for lunch or dinner, Pasta Night, Prime Rib Night and all club Social Events are strongly encouraged. If you would like to attend any of these social club events, please call to make a reservation i advance at 503-674-3213.

Event Cancellation Policy

"Cancellations" must be made no less than 24 hours in advance, and "Cancellations" may only be communicated to the Food and Beverage Director for dining events, and the Head Professional for golf events or a no show fee will be charged to your Member Account. If a Member fails to follow the cancellation policy, their account will be charged 50% of the total initial reservation bill.

Member Charges

All charge slips must be filled out by the member completely with their printed name and member number as well as a signature. Members must present their membership card when requested for charging purposes. All member charges will appear on the monthly member statement mailed in the following month.


Gratuities

Persimmon Country Club does not have an automatic gratuity on Food and Beverage in our dining room. Tipping is encouraged for our service staff here at the Club.

Catering and Board Room Usage

We offer a wide variety of catering options at the Club, including weddings, birthday parties, anniversary dinners and business meetings. If you have ever attended an event at Persimmon Country Club, you know that our Food and Beverage Department is second to none when it comes to excellent food and professional service. We strive to make every occasion unique and one that will be remembered for years to come. We offer a wide range of menu options to choose from that include everything from continental breakfasts and business luncheons to sit-down dinners. Policies & Procedures Thank you for helping us keep our Swim & Tennis Center safe and accident free. Please amke sure to observe all posted signage. Just a few quick reminders to make 2014 a great season at the pool: • Member Charge Only • All Children under the age of 14 must be accompined by an adult at all times. • No outside food & beverage allowed. • All members must sign in and register their guests at the front desk, be prepared to show your member card for identification. Member must accompany guest. • No Lifeguard on Duty. • Appropriate attire required for pool use • Appropriate attire and footwear must be worn on the Tennis courts at all times.

Guest Policy Members must register their guests at the front check in counter. Member must accompany guest at all times. We ask that you please inform your guests of our dress code standards and all center policies. Daily Rates: Children under 5: Complimentary

Punch Cards Punch cards for 20 guest punches are available for $100 (save $20) All punch cards expire September 4. 2-15 and must be used by the end of the seaon. No refunds will be given for unused punches.

Pass for Grandchildren A monthly pass for grandchildren is available for purchase at the swin and tennis center. Pass is for all grandchildren for the season. The cost for this pass is $100.


Persimmon Sport Camp

July 13th – July 17th (excluding Tuesday 7/14/2014)

Sport Camp begins at 9:00 am and ends 1:00 pm. After a brief warm up, the children to go the golf facility for games and practice , followed by tennis activities and snacks, outdoor games and swimming ending their day with a complete lunch. Limited to the first 10 registered campers foreach session. Children ages 6yrs and older. To sign up contact the Swim & Tennis center at 503-674-3291. Cost is $125.00 per participant.

Tennis Courts

Tennis courts are available on a first come first serve basis year round. Tennis courts open on the same schedule as the driving range.

Seasonal Complimentary Beginner Class

Thursdays 6:30 PM – 8:15 PM, Memorial Day through Labor Day 6:30pm to 7:15pm Open to beginners and children. 7:15pm to 8:15pm Intermediate and Adults Doug Walker, National Tennis Academy Certified, club member and Gresham native, has volunteered to help anyone experience the game of tennis. Doug will be available for instruction every Thursday night. Doug is a delightful instructor who is USTA certified. His enthusiasm for the game and for making new friends is contagious, as is his smile. Call 503-799-9989 to sign up each week or just drop by and see if there is room to jump in. Remember, Thursdays at 6:30pm. Oh yeah, and it’s FREE! Doug Walker will be also be providing private tennis lessons for all ages and abilities for members and their families, Monday through Friday mornings 7:00am - 10:00am. Private lessons cost $65/hour. Platinum Club Golf

The Platinum Club Golf Advantage is a unique program developed for Full Golf and Associate Golf Members that allows golfing privileges at a reduced rate at over 120 private, resort and daily-fee courses across the United States. Full Members can book tee times up to 60 days in dvance by calling a toll-free number. To view a list of participating clubs, please visit the Platinum Club website at theplatclub.com. Club to Club Transfer

The Club to Club Transfer Advantage allows Full Golf Transferable Members to transfer their membership to participating American Golf Corporation private clubs throughout the United States without paying the full initiation deposit at the new club.

Merchandise Advantage

The Merchandise Advantage allows Members to purchase pro shop merchandise at specially-reduced Member pricing. Members enjoy the convenience of making purchases at the Club and also receive substantial savings on all of their golfing needs.


Member Advantage Plan Assessment-Free Advantage The Assessment-Free Advantage ensures that Members will never receive an assessment bill. American Golf Corporation assumes full financial responsibility for capital expenditures and operating losses.

Player Development The Player Development Advantage provides a regular schedule of complimentary golf clinics for Members of all ages and abilities. Covering a wide range of topics from the rules of golf and golf course etiquette to driving and short game techniques, AGC's talented golf professionals work with Members and their families to help them learn the game and improve their skills.

Legacy Advantage The Legacy Advantage allows Members to share the privileges of membership with their families. Children and grandchildren of AGC Members who are under the age of 35 may receive membership privileges at participating AGC clubs nationwide by paying monthly dues only. The initiation deposit is deferred for three years or until the age of 35- whichever is longer.


Frequently Asked Golf Questions

What should I wear? Proper golf attire consists of pants or Bermuda-length shorts and spikeless golf shoes. Men’s shirts must have collars. All of the following are prohibited: Denim of all colors, types and designs, short shorts, cut-offs, tennis or running shorts, T-shirts and tank tops. Where should I change? Members and guests may change clothes in the locker rooms only. Changing of clothes in the parking lot is prohibited. How many guests may I bring? Members may bring up to three guests to play golf, and should call ahead to schedule tee times. No more than three guests per Member are permitted without the permission of the Head Professional. Guests are restricted to one visit per month, up to twelve times per year. Who may drive carts? Golf carts may be operated by anyone 16 years of age and older, providing that person has a valid driver’s license. Carts should always be driven on the cart paths, unless the ninety-degree rule is in effect. Do I need a tee time? Tee times are recommended and may be obtained by calling the golf shop up to seven days in advance for the weekday and two days in advance for weekends. Players who do not schedule tee times will be assigned available tee times that have not been reserved. Should I check in before play? Yes, you must register with the golf shop prior to using the facilities.
