From 3 to 5 May, Perve Galeria will be present at 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair an international art in New York, U.S.A. for its fifth anniversary edition in Industria, West Village.
Represented by Perve Galeria, Ernesto Shikhani (1934-2010) will be among the 24 galleries from Belgium, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Ghana, Kenya, Martinique, Morocco, Nigeria, Portugal, Senegal, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States, collectively exhibiting the work of more than 70 artists.
Born in Mozambique, Ernesto Shikhani spent his entire life on the African continent and his artistic work has always reflected a concern with the problems of contemporary societies of the era in which he lived (Mozambican war of independence and the sequent civil war).
