After the Celebration Cycle of his Centenary, initiated in Portugal by Perve Galeria, the artwork of Cruzeiro Seixas arrives in London. The exhibition cycle in tribute to the Portuguese surrealist master began in November 2020, with exhibitions at Perve Galeria and Casa da Liberdade - Mário Cesariny, at Sociedade Nacional de Belas-Artes, and at Atmosfera m. The cycle ends in Portugal with the exhibition “One Step Ahead”, on show until 22 October 2021, at Atmosfera m Porto. However, Perve Galeria continues the tribute cycle internationally, through its participation in international art fairs, from Spain to the United Kingdom, as is the case of the next exhibition at Frieze Masters in London, introducing to the world the great painter and poet, founder of the Portuguese surrealist group, Cruzeiro Seixas (1920-2020). Following this project of homage and internationalization of the artist, in preview, curated by Carlos Cabral Nunes, Artistic Director of Perve Galeria, the present exhibition presents, for the first time in London, the artwork of the master Artur do Cruzeiro Seixas, which will later integrate the largest international art fair, Frieze Masters, at The Regent’s Park (stand H13), from 13 to 17 October. The future exhibition at Frieze Masters, curated by Laura Hoptman, brings together artworks, documents, letters, drawings, poetry, made between the 40’s and the 80’s of the 20th century, covering 50 years of the artist’s activity, continuing the course of his internationalisation, along with the exhibition “A tío Arturo Cruzeiro Seixas por su centenário”, part of “Menú - Cuadernos de Poesía”, on show until the November 21 in Cuenca, Spain. The present ceremony reflects the beginning of a project that gives the opportunity to discover and connect to Cruzeiro Seixas and his intense and complex world.
