“Surviving COVID-19; Best Practices for Navigating Uncertain Times”

Bill and Amy Hillis are the Co-Founders and Managing Partners of Social Pet Hotel and Daycare, with two locations in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. Bill served as an Enlisted Infantry Soldier in the SC Army National Guard while attending The Citadel. Upon graduation, he was Commissioned as an Armor Officer. During Armor School training at Fort Knox, he was notified that he would be transferred to a Cavalry unit that was being called up for deployment. He subsequently led a platoon of Security Force Soldiers in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan before beginning his career in Commercial Real Estate. Bill and Amy have brought the Enrichment Daycare platform to the Charlotte area to help enrich the bond between dogs and their families. Amy continues to feed her passion for education by serving as the co-chair of IBPSA’s Education Committee, serving on the PACCC board, volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas, and is also currently back in graduate school at Queens University of Charlotte earning her Certificate of Leadership and Change.

Brandon Hess “Common HR Pitfalls: How to Avoid Fines and Lawsuits” & “Pet Care Service Provider Wellness”

Brandon Hess spent 10 years in the management trenches, first as a companion animal veterinary hospital manager and from 2014 to 2016, as the manager of a large specialty practice in Ohio (2016 AAHA Specialty Practice of the year). Dr. Jason Stull

“The Time is NOW – Protecting your Facility from Dog Flu (and other infections)”

Jason Stull is an Assistant Professor in veterinary medicine at the Atlantic Veterinary College and The Ohio State University. Over the past 15 years, he had been involved in veterinary infection control, protecting people and animals from infectious diseases. He has lectured to business owners and staff of animal group settings, such as boarding facilities and daycares, on infection control, and conducted outbreak investigations and research on infection control-related topics (including canine influenza virus). He holds a VMD from the University of Pennsylvania, Masters in Preventive Veterinary Medicine from the University of California at Davis, and PhD in veterinary infectious disease from the University of Guelph. He is a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine.

Nancy has been an SBA Lender for the past 20 years – focusing on the pet care industry. Like many of you, this is not Nancy’s first career. Before becoming a banker, she was a Marine Biologist focusing on habitat restoration on the Texas Gulf Coast. She was a dog person, but has evolved into a cat person. She lives in Houston, Texas with her Siamese cat – Fofe.
