On behalf of the entire DCE team, I would once again like to welcome you to the beautiful Parkstad Limburg Stadium. As always, the finale of the European Music Games will take place here. After many competitions in Ireland, Germany, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, today we will know which corps are crowned European Champions 2014. In the Junior Class, we have a fantastic field of participants. We are proud that we are seeing the number of Junior Class corps increase in Europe. The enthusiasm with which these children will be giving you their best performance today will certainly deserve a thunderous applause. You are also welcome to enthusiastically cheer for all of the corps in the Premier Class. Not all of the shows that you see this morning will make it through to the evening, so make sure you do not miss a show because each one is bursting with entertainment! After the always exciting Prelims, we find out which ten corps will participate in the final battle tonight. And then the big question is: who will be going home tonight with the trophy and the champions flag? Our judges, who this season have travelled throughout Europe to assess the corps and especially also to help lift their productions up to the next level, are ready. The corps are ready. The DCE staff team is ready. And I assume that you are ready for this too: the European Music Games Championships. I wish you plenty of viewing and listening pleasure. Beste muziekliefhebber, Namens het hele DCE-team wil ik u weer van harte welkom heten in het mooie Parkstad Limburg Stadion. Opnieuw vindt hier het sluitstuk plaats van de European Music Games. Na veel wedstrijden in Ierland, Duitsland, Verenigd Koninkrijk en Nederland wordt vandaag beslecht welke korpsen zich Europees kampioen mogen noemen. In de Junior Class hebben we een fantastisch deelnemersveld. We zijn trots dat we in Europa het aantal Junior Class korpsen zien toenemen. Het enthousiasme waarmee deze kinderen hun beste prestatie vandaag aan u gaan laten zien verdient zonder meer een stormachtig applaus. Dat applaus mag u eveneens uitbundig uitdelen aan alle korpsen in de Premier Class. Niet alle shows die u deze ochtend ziet gaan door naar de avond, dus zorg dat u geen show mist want ze barsten stuk voor stuk van het entertainment! Na de altijd spannende Prelims weten we welke tien korpsen deel gaan nemen aan de finalestrijd vanavond. En dan is de grote vraag: wie gaat vanavond met de wisselbeker en de kampioensvlag naar huis? Onze jury, die dit seizoen door heel Europa heeft gereisd om de korpsen te beoordelen en vooral ook om te helpen hun producties naar een hoger niveau te tillen, is er klaar voor, het DCE staff team is er klaar voor en ik ga er vanuit dat u er ook klaar voor bent: de European Music Games Championships. Herzlich willkommen bei den DCE European Championships Sehr geehrte Musikliebhaber, Im Namen des gesamten DCE-Teams darf ich Sie auch dieses Jahr wieder zum Finale der European Music Games im Parkstad Limburg Stadion begrüßen. Nach vielen Contesten in Irland, Deutschland, Großbritannien und den Niederlanden werden wir heute erfahren welches Corps zum Europameister 2014 gekrönt wird. Besonders stolz sind wir dieses Jahr auf die wachsende Zahl der Junior Corps. Die Begeisterung, mit der die Kinder diese beachtliche Leistung vollbringen hat sicherlich tosenden Applaus verdient. Genauso verdienen natürlich auch die Corps der Premier Class ihren Beifall. Aber Achtung: Nicht jede Show vom Vormittag schafft es auch ins abendliche Finale, passen Sie also auf, dass Sie keine verpassen, denn jede von ihnen ist voller Spaß und harter Arbeit! Nach den immer wieder spannenden Prelims finden wir heraus, welche zehn Corps es bis zum heutigen Abend schaffen werden, wenn sich schließlich die Frage stellt: Wer wird heute Abend mit der Trophäe und der Champion-Flagge nach Hause gehen? Unsere Judges, die in dieser Saison erneut durch ganz Europa gereist sind, um die Shows zu bewerten und vor allem den Corps dabei zu helfen, ihr Produkt stetig zu verbessern, sind nun bereit. Das DCE-Team ist bereit. Die Corps sind bereit. Und ich nehme an, dass Sie ebenfalls bereit sind. Hier kommen sie nun also: Die European Music Games Championships! Bienvenue aux championnats européens de DCE Cher/Chère passionné(e) de musique, Au nom de toute l’équipe de DCE, je tiens une fois de plus à vous accueillir dans l’enceinte du magnifique Parkstad Limburg Stadium. Comme toujours, la finale des European Music Games se tiendra ici-même. Après de nombreuses compétitions qui se sont tenues en Irlande, en Allemagne, au Royaume-Uni et aux Pays-Bas, nous saurons aujourd’hui quels Corps obtiendront le titre de champions européens 2014. Dans la catégorie Junior Class, nous avons un fantastique éventail de participants. Nous sommes fiers de voir le nombre de Corps de catégorie Junior Class augmenter en Europe. L’enthousiasme avec lequel ces enfants essaieront de vous offrir leur meilleure représentation possible aujourd’hui mérite certainement un tonnerre d’applaudissements. Vous êtes également invité(e)s à applaudir l’ensemble des Corps de la catégorie Premier Class avec enthousiasme. Tous les spectacles que vous aurez l’occasion de voir ce matin. Ne réussiront pas à atteindre la dernière étape du concours ce soir, alors assurez-vous de n’en manquer aucun, car tous sont extrêmement divertissants! Après les préliminaires, comme toujours très passionnants, nous découvrirons les dix Corps qui se seront qualifiés pour participer à la bataille finale de ce soir. Et puis, toujours cette grande question qui demeure: lequel de ces Corps rentrera chez lui ce soir avec le trophée et le drapeau de champions? Nos juges, qui cette saison ont voyagé à travers toute l’Europe afin d’évaluer les Corps et surtout pour les aider à booster leurs productions à un niveau supérieur, sont prêts. L’équipe du personnel de DCE est également prête, et je suppose que vous êtes également prêt(e)s pour cet évènement: les championnats des European Music Games.

Benvenuto ai Campionati Europei DCE Carissimo appassionato di musica, A nome dell’intero staff del DCE, vorrei darti un’altra volta il benvenuto nel bellissimo Parkstad Limburg Stadio. Come sempre, le Finali degli European Music Game avranno sede qui. Dopo molte competizioni in Irlanda, Germania, Regno Unito e Olanda, oggi sapremo quale gruppo sarà incoronato Campione Europeo del 2014. Nella Junior Class abbiamo un fantastico gruppo di partecipanti. Siamo fieri di vedere che il numero di Junior Corps in Europa è in crescita. L’entusiasmo con cui questi ragazzini vi offriranno la loro migliore performance, oggi, meriterà certamente un applauso fragoroso. Sentiti pure libero di tifare con entusiasmo ogni gruppo della Premier Class. Non tutti gli spettacoli che vedrai questa mattina potranno conquistarsi l’esibizione serale, quindi cerca di non perderti nemmeno uno show perché sono tutti ricchissimi di intrattenimento! Dopo i sempre emozionanti Preliminari, scopriremo quali saranno i dieci gruppi che parteciperanno nella battaglia finale di stasera. E la grande domanda è: chi tornerà a casa, stanotte, col trofeo e la bandiera del vincitore? I nostri giudici, che per l’intera stagione hanno viaggiato in tutta Europa per valutare i gruppi e, in special modo, per aiutarli a spingere le loro creazioni artistiche ad un livello superiore, sono pronti. Tutto lo staff del DCE è pronto. Ed io presumo che anche voi siate pronti per questo evento: il Campionato degli European Music Game. Wat zijn de DCE European Championships? (Dutch introduction for new visitors)
Uw eerste keer bij de DCE European Championships? We leggen u graag wat meer uit over onze activiteit.

‘Drum & bugle corps’ (of de vaak gebruikte afkorting ‘drum corps’) komt oorspronkelijk uit Amerika, waar Drum Corps International de wedstrijden organiseert. De muziek- en showstijl van deze korpsen verschilt in grote mate van de in Nederland bekende fanfares, drumbands en blaaskapellen. De op Amerikaanse leest geschoeide showkorpsen schotelen de toeschouwers een waar spektakel voor. De muziekkeuze is eerder modern dan traditioneel te noemen (onder meer pop, rock, musical, latin muziek) en de showmuziek wordt gecombineerd met grote visuele effecten. De leden lopen niet in blokjes, maar volgens een gecompliceerde choreografie.
Hoewel er dus wedstrijden zijn voorafgaand aan de DCE European Championships, tellen eerdere scores niet mee in de EK. Vandaag is het dus: nieuwe ronde, nieuwe kansen voor alle deelnemers. Wel bepalen eerder behaalde scores de volgorde van optreden in de voorronde die deze ochtend en middag plaatsvinden. De deelnemers die de hoogste scores hebben behaald in de nationale wedstrijden, mogen vandaag later aantreden in de voorronde. De uitslag van de voorronde bepaalt de volgorde van optreden tijdens het grote finale spektakelstuk vanavond. Op de DCE European Championships wordt gestreden in twee klassen: de Premier Class (de hoogste klasse) en de Junior Class (de klasse waarin jeugdkorpsen uitkomen).
Door de combinatie van muziek en show komen toeschouwers meer dan eens ogen en oren tekort. De korpsen brengen ieder jaar een nieuwe show en staan bekend om hun continue vernieuwingsdrang. Zo zijn er zelfs deelnemers die inmiddels gebruik maken van elektronische versterking om bepaalde instrumenten beter tot hun recht te laten komen.
U ziet hier vandaag het neusje van de zalm. Het welbekende Wereld Muziek Concours zou u kunnen zien als de Olympische Spelen van de muziekwereld. Niet alleen vanwege de tijdspanne, maar ook omdat er allerlei verschillende disciplines te zien zijn. Wanneer we de vergelijking met sport doortrekken, kunt u de DCE European Championships zien als de ‘Champions League’ van de muziekwereld. De beste korpsen in deze spectaculaire discipline zijn hier aanwezig.
Drum Corps Europe organiseert jaarlijks de DCE European Championships, het Europees Kampioenschap voor drum & bugle corps. Dit evenement is in een paar jaar tijd uitgegroeid tot één van de grootste eendaagse muziek- en showevenementen van Europa. Het EK is het sluitstuk van het Europese drum corps seizoen. In diverse Europese landen worden wedstrijden georganiseerd van mei tot en met september. In september vinden de nationale kampioenschappen plaats (zoals het kampioenschap van onze zusterorganisatie Drum Corps Nederland, twee weken geleden in het FC Dordrecht stadion). De beste korpsen uit Nederland, Engeland, Ierland, Frankrijk, Duitsland en Italië gaan na de nationale competities in Europees verband de strijd met elkaar aan.
Alle deelnemers spelen hun show uitsluitend naar de hoofdtribune, dat is dan ook de enige tribune die wordt gebruikt. Zo heeft u altijd een goed zicht op het programma en hoeft u niets te missen. We hopen dat u van de shows geniet. En zien u graag weer een keer terug!
